try enabling keeping the data session open while connected to wireless, it should be in your connectivity settings.

*sometimes this is listed under developer options as Cellular data always active

Sounds like your device is simply jumping onto the tower when connected to wireless using the lesser frequency available.

How about moving the SS as far away as you can from the wifi router. Give that a go

I actually tried that last night, I plugged the SureSignal into a LAN port in the lounge as far away from the router in the garage as I could get and still no joy.

Can you try with a cable in the port that works on the router. Just use the cable that came with it and move it as far away as you can. The cable is about a meter long. If that still fails see the PM i sent you

Nope. This happens if someone sends a PM but delete it before the recipient reads it.

I don't seem to have any option of this kind on the handset I'm using. Have enabled dev mode on the handset and as I say nothing remotely like this in the options. Thanks anyway appreciated

Strange, ill see if i cant get my hands on a family members Samsung device to check for it.

It was there on both my HTC Sense OS and CyanogenMod.

This might be daft, but I didnt know that femtocells do wifi. It was my understanding is that they are just a 3G data access point.

I would have assumed that wifi would be provided by your existing broadband wifi router, the femtocell would be plugged into one of its lan ports in order to gain network access to one of the upstream cell sites.

I would think that mobile phones in general would connect to the strongest signal. Assuming both devices are in the house, this would be wifi in the house and more than likely 3g in the garage as the wifi will have a shorter range. By putting the femtocell in the garage, its signal will be stronger there, but it will drop when you walk back towards the wifi in the house.

That is, if I understand the question correctly.

I wonder if I speak to my VF mobile account manager, if they can white-list my non-VF UFB static IP so I can use my suresignal box?

Has anyone else had any luck with this? Any terminology I should use that VF will understand?

OK......... Yes your sure signal can work with a fibre static IP with another provider, no idea how you go about getting this set up as my IT manager did this for me with our Vodafone rep.

As for the solution.......hopefully I have got this right if not NZFINEST will hopefully jump in and correct me. Yes your device will show disconnected from the sure signal device when WIFI is on, BUT even with WIFI on when you receive or make a call its routed to or from the suresignal as that was the last place your device was registered. NZFINEST confirmed this with a call and a trace and indeed even with wifi on and the light showing disconnected calls go through the suresignal

I think that's about the size of it. Hope that helps anyone with a similar issue.
