I had little to no Vodafone coverage at home which was an issue when receiving work calls. My IT manager has set me up with a Vodafone SureSignal and I have a quick question for anybody who may be able to assist. I have it set up and working no issues however it only works with the wifi on the cellphone switched off. As soon as I switch wifi off the light on the SureSignal to say a device is connected lights up solid and I get full bars of Vodafone coverage all over the house. Great. However as soon as I turn wifi on on the handset (Android ) the light on the SureSignal goes out and the phone goes back to the nearest Vodafone tower which gives me very little if any coverage.

I can just leave WIFI off if I have to but I was wondering why it would do this.

Thanks in advance.

What ISP are you using? Looking at your Signature here on Geekzone you seem to be on 2Degrees

Yup. Understand all that but I can assure you it's happening. Wifi off = full connection to SureSignal shown by solid illumination of connected device light. Wifi on = connected device light out and back to cell tower and next to no coverage.

Yes I'm on 2 degrees. Our work Vodafone rep has configured my SureSignal to work on my 2degrees fibre static ip.

What you are describing is not possible and I take it you have 3G enabled on the handset?

Only have an iPhone 7 Plus to test with and that's on Spark so would involve swapping sims etc which I may do tomorrrow.

Here is a short video I just made of the issue. Excuse the poor footage but you can clearly see the issue. SureSignal starts off with no connected device. As soon as I disable wifi device connects. As soon as I enable wifi device drops off

The radio signal stays on full for a short time then drops off. My gear is in the garage where I do get a bit of reception, I'd need to walk into the house to show the signal dropping off and back to the (poor) cell tower reception.

I'll try and get it on video later or tomorrow but again I can assure you it's happening. If the connected device light goes out on the SureSignal as I showed in the video it's back to cell tower.

It's plugged into a port on my gig switch in the garage cupboard where all my gear is.

OK remove it from the Gig switch and plug it into one of the LAN ports on the router
