This would be tempting if they offered the 200mbps dl speeds in chch like some of their competitors do.
An interesting offer.
As I understand it, the Ultra Hub is only used to provide router functions like DHCP with the TP-Link Deco devices providing the mesh wifi network that is managed using the TP-Link Tether mobile phone app.
My existing setup is similar with three Google Wifi devices and a TP-Link Google-On device providing my mesh wifi network that is managed using the Google Wifi mobile phone app.
Questions:
I wonder if this classifies as a purchase?

Likely not: "Attach a COPY of the original itemised invoice and receipt paid in full. "

I would assume no - as you wouldn't get a "original itemised invoice and receipt paid in full".

Thanks for your responses. Thats a shame seems like a great offer.
Contacted VF and apparently can qualify under our existing contract. Just waiting on the redemption email (which for some reason can take 2-3 days) which will have all the T&C's. Be interesting to see what fish hooks there are. Nothing to lose to give it a shot....
Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
Just installed mine, have a small house so one was enough. Can really notice a sharp improvement in speeds (most likely due to 802.11ax). Got rid of our old router and used as standalone - is this a good or bad idea? Anyways if we ever need the second unit I will keep it in its box. Just waiting to see if any muckups are on my bill 😬
-e- https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/272463808 download better (previously ~620-630) but upload... not so much.
Installed mine with ethernet cables down either end of 17m hallway. Working fine but will have to put the cables in wall/ceiling.
Had some issues with the Deco app and setup:
1. App on phone kept failing to connect to the X20s so I had to manually connect a few times.
2. Operating Mode defaulted to "Router" so I had to change it to "Access Point"
3. Defaulted to 40Mhz channel width and there's no way to change it to 20MHz or to select a specific channel - but I discovered 4 of 7 neighbours are now using a 40MHz channels width too so I don't feel so bad now.
It is a well-known issue that, like Google Nest etc., Deco units aren't very configurable so compatibility will be an issue with some older devices that want to use specific blocks of channels.
Are you folks turning off the WiFi on the router, when using these AP? In a true mesh system you can control everything from a single point (like the FritzBox or DLink units do). Are you able to do this with those units? Can you replace the router with one of those if you want?

Yep have replaced my router with one of these good as gold. I can't help you in regards to the mesh question however 😊.

Yes, they are a true mesh system (including IEEE 802.11k/v/r) but I've cabled them to the router.
Yes. the default mode is to connect to the Internet and replace the router (PPPoE, DHCP, NAT, QoS, etc.). I had to manually configure it for "Access Point" mode as I'm keeping the UltraHub router but that does mean that I lose the Parental Controls, QoS, Encryption control, etc.
Yes, all the settings are controlled from the app. But the settings are more limited than the UltraHub router, e.g. I cannot set the WLAN channels.
They seem a lot like a Google Nest with WiFi 6 (802.11ax) added. There is a limited range of settings with less for users to stuff up.
I'm unsure if they are the V1 or V2 devices. On the box it labelled as V1.2 but the latest firmware version is 2.0.3. The update was requested as soon as I connected the frist time. When I added the second X20, the need to update it was also notified.
Edited to add mesh info.
Thanks for the updates folks.

Is this 40MHz in 5GHz or 2.4GHz?

Some OS versions have different permissions/security which may not allow the app to auto connect to the deco wifi which is maybe why it failed to connect sometimes.
Once you've done the setup in the app, you can log into the Web UI of the Deco by browsing to its IP address - the password is the same one as you use for the App login.
In the web UI you can see some additional features like wifi config.
