Agreed, after 2 months of waiting this is extremely disappointing, and I am voting with my wallet. Its a real shame, as I like Vodafone, but I can't ignore the fact that other ISP's are offering much better value which I can't ignore. Orcon, woosh or slingshot is the question. Bye bye Vodafone.

Serious: Early bird catches the worm....

New broadband promo has started:
http://www.vodafone.co.nz/broadband/

Thanks, so these wonderful things to wait for is actually a price increase(double data) for me as I am on the Ultimate Plan. Thanks for nothing and goodbye VF.

Pretty sure it was already $30.60 on Ultimate, wasn't it?

Maybe I don't know, I always thought it was $30, though I was hoping it would be cheaper after this announcement, we now live in the 120GB/$100+ world now and vodafone is no longer value for money.

I aim to misbehave.

Wow I was hoping I wouldn't regret my switch to snap.

I don't.

Are you already with Snap?  Is the speed good?

I'm going to pay $15 more a month (paying VF $100 for so-called Ultimate Pack for 80Gb/M) to get 255G data a month plus landline.

I simply regretted having wasted another month

Moving house next month, $100 to move the connection and $200 to break contract.  Might look else where.  Spoke to the calling centre and they didn't seem interested in keeping my custom

What are the best deals around at the moment for a high data user that needs reliable internet for voip and remote access connections to Europe and Washington DC?

And how well does the vodafone router work with other isps?

Just spoke with VF sales/retention. I'm happy with the offer that they gave me so I'm sticking with VF.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Care to share the offer?  All they said for me was "let us know if you what you decide"

networkn: Router is not ISP Specific.

By router, do you also include the modem function in that or literally just as a router?

The Huawei HG556a is not network specific either in its routing or modem components. The only network specific features on it are the ones that allow VF to provide greater tech support to it. e.g. syncing the username/password automatically.

Please note: I have a professional bias towards Vodafone.

I just rang VF to ask for procedures for switching to other ISPs and they transferred me to their Customer Retention Team.

As a result of that discussion, they are still unable to match Telecom's 120G plan as I was advised they only have 80GB (maximum data pack) or 160GB (after double up) blocks.

I explained that all I wanted is more data and am not very happy with only 20Gb increase lately; I did get some offer of option however it is still not what I'm after. So I thanked the representative and said good bye.

At least I tried hard to stay with VF.

I'm ringing Snap now.

This from the VF Broadband Forum:

"There are no changes to Vodafone naked broadband plans at this time. The new Choice and Mega home phone and broadband packs offer great value, especially if you make use of the BestMate for home phone feature."

They've doubled my data for free and they are moving me onto their new mega pack for $95.
