I agree there isn't a good (any?) plan for heavy users with vodafone.

The 5 BestMates with the home phone will be a very attractive offer to a lot of people though, seeing as any NZ mobile can be added.

Wills1: Naked customers.

I just got off the phone with the retention team and have been offered naked ultimate 120gb for $65 per month. I have an on account mobile with them, and I live in the red zone. I'm happy with that offer.

effectively I've doubled data for $10 per month. Was paying $55 per month previously.

Very nice deal. Am also on naked and on mobile account in red zone, will try to ring them and see if I can get this same offer.

It think you are missing the point that Vodafone has good growth and is not targeting the heavy downloaders. The changes (or lack of) won't suit everyone, but they would suit the majority of users.

You also need to understand that GZ users not typical users of data. My Father in law has all his needs met for 5GB a month. We switched him to a 20GB Plan with VF and now he has 40GB he still uses only 6GB a month average.

But GZ members are the type of people that people ask which ISP is good.

From your replies I get you are friendly towards VF but 'lipstick on a pig', most internet users are going to be doing more than just email and webpage surfing by now(ON Demand), value for money is all that matters. VF,Telecom and the rest tell us Data/$ is all that matters and they are right and now VF is no longer value for money in the data/$ mark.

I aim to misbehave.

+1... if you have Sky and make frequent phone calls I can see good value with the VF plans. Unfortunately neither apply to me either :(

Im more than happy with the value I get thanks. Your statements offer no value or are not based on fact.

I got a flyer from telecom promoting their fantastic 30gb plan last week. It wasnt even close to what VF are offering both in data and in value.

If you want value, you can definitely look around find a plan with any provider +/- $10 what VF are offering.

So they dont offer enough data for 'heavy' users is some peoples minds. Thats a market that they dont perhaps need to compete in. From may performance figures, VF is doing what they do very well for most users. Some of the statements around this topic seem to suggest you cant compete if you dont offer less than 200gb..........

When looking at providers, I weigh up all of the options and for me, VF has my ongoing custom. I would assume the majority of customers agree

Vodafone:
$67 for 60GB (discount since I am on a smart plan)
double data $97 for 120GB

when I join vodafone, I did not realize that the speed will be slowed down after the cap. i am so used to paying extra after reaching the cap when I was on TCL cable and maxnet.

Snap:
$85 for 155GB
$100 for 260GB

(plus I will not be slowed down)

If I was offered $65 for 120GB I'd stay. But I don't see why I have to ring up and say I'm leaving to get a deal they should be offering anyway?

DS9: Know wonder they are looking at buying TelstraClear as after this announcement that will be the only way to increase market share. I said it when we had to wait 2 months, this was a great way to loose customers and when they do come to the party its a flop.

Over the whole market Vodafone has grown / growth and is doing very well so not sure how you got your facts / figures

Over the last 4/5 (since this morning) pages and the VF forum I can safely say I think I will be right on this one, I know you help a lot of people and that is great, though your companies strategic and marketing dept.'s have basically gifted market share to the competition. I know some people are happy and that is great but times are changing and like evolution those who don't adapt or are too slow die out.
