johnojr: I'm lucky enough if i can peak 100mbps on sites and that is using a download accelerator although i can peak my connection on steam for single download. But now 130? gee my hardware can't get that high, yes i have the bog standard cisco gigabit modem do i need a gigabit port too? Vodafone doesn't make this clear, what about if want to add a router to the mix do i have to go and spend 3-400 for a gigabit including the kitchen sink just to keep up?

geekiegeek: I've had enough. After many years of loyal service to TCL and for a shorter time Vodafone. I just cant live with the low data cap any longer.
Have signed up for snap VDSL with a 1TB cap (yes you read that right) for $155 per month. The number of times that I actually use more then 3-4Mbps I could count on one hand so I don't think I will miss the speed that much. I know for sure that I wont miss worrying about how much I am going over my cap each month and how much its going to cost me.
Vodafone, if you are listening, no one cares about an extra 30Mbps when they can hardly ever max out the 100 they already have. its just marketing BS IMO.
If you can offer 400GB on ADSL why the hell cant you do it on Cable?
To late for this customer.
DonGould:
The answer is fairly obvious after the free data weekend (remember that?!)
They clearly just don't have switching capacity in the network to move lots of data at once without it impacting performance.
The thing about ADSL is that you can only throw 20mbit of draw per customer at peek times.
With HFC you can put 7 times that per customer and they clearly just don't have the capacity in the network to do that.
Low data caps cause people who want large volumes of data to just choose the Chorus network, as you rightly point out. - being that this is exactly what you're doing.
We really have to remember that being a service provider, in most cases, is NOT about delivering as much data as possible. It's about using technology to extract as much money from you as possible while also maintaining the lowest possible costs.
Most people in the data market are not there for altruistic reasons, they're there to pay with toys and make money for themselves and others.

freitasm: Vodafone has increased the price on the 150GB plan (extra $10 on existing price), and added a 250GB plan (extra $20 on existing 150GB plan price) to the lineup now:
