The plans are the same one has no cap the other 500GB

VF is saying the 500GB Plan has the same traffic management already so it's no different, they are just being clearer about the traffic management being present if I am reading it properly.

Easy question to answer with Google.

looks like some plans did and some plans didn't as at 1st March. I would say that VF hisotrical customers have had it there for at least 2 months (the offer summaries from 1st March, there is very little infor before that) but TCL - particualrly cable customers may not.

This is correct, all customers on the 500GB Entertain plan have had their data caps removed as of today. Go hard. :)

Yep - there's a tick box underneath the plans marked "upgrade your speed" which will show the 100mbps price. 100mbps for $30 more on UFB Fibre.

This is making snap look rather expensive.

Personally though, I think snap have a good balance between providing unlimited speeds yet still allowing unmetered downloads 1am-7am.

Still, I will be watching these forums closely to see peoples opinion on the new unlimited plans.

It appears that there was a lack of clarity as to whether traffic management applied on the limited plans before. Assuming there factually was traffic management but the T&C wasn't 100% transparent, the new T&Cs are a good thing. Let's just hope that people don't start abusing the umlimited service and really ruin things for everyone.

Maybe I am just weird but I really do prefer getting close to line speeds than downloading a terabyte a month.

Although just wondering, we're currently on a 60gb 15/2 cable plan, can we upgrade (to unlimited or 150) without breaking contract? Will it start a new contract? Our contract runs until july Just speaking in general without looking into our specific account

Oh and do cable customers on these plans still get a static ip?

Like I wrote on Facebook, I will happily eat my predictions and previous negative sentiments if indeed things go well. And based on your and others' description, it sounds like there is good reason to believe that things will go well. What I hope VF will do is clamp down hard on the idiots that are bandwidth hogs full stop (by way of applying the fair use policies), instead of merely targeting p2p or traffic shaping all users on the unlimited plan.* To be fair, lots of lessons would/should have been learnt from previous horror shows by the likes of Telecom and Slingshot (by way of non-exhaustive examples and without meaning to target anybody).

* On this particular point, for "normal" people like 99% of us, it's really hard to wrap our heads around how there are some who'd just non-selectively download/pirate/whatever everything under the sun for the heck of it merely because it is "free" on their unlimited plans. We have two guys at work who have bragged about their 500 terabytes+ worth of content downloaded from the net over a year or two.

Cable will definitely still have a static IP, there have been no changes to the way the service is provisioned.

Waiting on confirmation around the first point.

Are unlimited users grouped in any kind of shared data/usage pools, separate from capped plans, that are then affected by the traffic management when used up?

I used to always maximized my cap before it resets so I can say that I got my money's worth.
Getting 150% usage or more somehow makes me grin.

That happiness is now taken away from me with this unlimited cap.
There's no point downloading gigabytes of useless data where there's no limit to break.
