zocster: what ROI scheme are they thinking of this time I wonder?

Maybe they're trying to balance this figure out:

Average revenue per user

For the quarter to 30 December 2007:

  • Total (blended) - $46.05
  • On Account - $101.47
  • Prepay - $24.98

Lol ahmad. How will they pay for all that VoIP data from Egypt if everyone stays on prepay!?

I am surprised they published those numbers though. That on account number seems much higher than I had anticipated. Well - they have been trying to convert customers to on account since I can remember.

JoeBloggs: Manhinli hit the nail on the head. There are many many times where Vodafone makes the mistake. A customer is then charged to enquire about a resolution. 1) Easy revenue source. 2) Less money spent on CSR salaries.

Good point, Last year I had a many month long dispute running on a large error for data excess consumption that occurred from the billing system upgrade in May. Having been travelling in Aus and trying to return CSR message, was stuck on hold and then dropped a number of times. Tried a couple of time on different days. When billed $64 for trying to call VF and still not having issue resolved it was escalated and finally waived (oh and also found the right person to address the data issue).

As Mark mentioned on Campbell Live -  'we are isolated in NZ, it does cost a lot to bring that data down to NZ' Foot in mouth

CookieMonster: But when a 3rd guy comes to the party, it will be very difficult to make sure no under cutting among the lot. :)

Sorry to drag this up, but someone seems to have forgotten to tell the petrol companies!! It's all to do with market structure, what it will take is product differentiation.

Food for thought.

Glad to hear it matt Laughing. VF roaming system is notoriously unreliable, especially for data.

Wow, this is incredible. Can you even call it "customer service" if you're charging exorbitant rates for it? What a shocking new policy.

Hmm... like that guy on Fair Go who kept on using his tethered mobile on Prepay... didn't realise that he was in "debit", and had to slowly pay up by recharging only to have it go towards his usage?

Maybe they can do that to you too.

These figures are published every 6 months and have been ever since Vodafone took over BellSouth.
