VodafoneDylan: Full info now here http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/BU1601/S00185/vodafone-announces-vision-to-create-inovative-aukland-home.htm

Will one of their innovations be learning to spell innovation and Auckland correctly ? :)

Personally the new work space sounds "interesting", but for my money I'd rather see them get the stuff they are already doing, done better and their processes improved.

I agree, be nice if they stopped offshoring calls and sent them back to people in NZ (maybe even at Smales Farm) who could actually help. Plenty of complaints about the Philippines call centre on FB.

People will be moving from a number of buildings into the one location at Smales Farm. It's exactly about improving processes by bringing people together in one place.

I actually don't mind the offshoring so long as they sort out the lack of promised call backs. Its cheaper and means the end price is lower and they are perfectly capable of dealing with most of the first tier BS that people call their telco about.

Knee jerk reaction by an inexperienced team who were probably sipping the pre-Xmas bubbles in the Viaduct...give them time, they'll figure it out eventually - forcing an apology from the Herald won't help them in the longer term, all about building relationships, not ending them....

Opps, can't post words the OP is able to, perk of owning the site I guess;-)

Will there be any assistance for people who currently commute from a long distance (ie, out east/south Auckland) to the Viaduct? Or no?

My understanding is the original article said staff had been informed. Since that happened yesterday we can hardly call it accurate.

There was nothing confirmed as they are still looking at numbers but there was some talk about the bright future of Auckland public transport.

Please note: I have a professional bias towards Vodafone.

An easy mistake but the news about move was in itself correct. Vodafone made it look like completely, 100% wrong. Matt can blame new comm's staff but decision is really at the top - Russell could easily just said "yes, but no details are available" instead of the whole "we are thinking of taking legal action against the paper" that doesn't look good (well, for the majority of readers it makes no difference really but for industry analysts and observers it just feels like disconnected).

Also, remember that large companies trying to control news  is something that doesn't really work in this century. It could have been something easy to do in the 90s and early 2000s but these days it's all but impossible to control news flow.
