Once again my T-Box disappoints me. Programmed it to record a programme on channel 4 last night and go to watch it and instead get TV3. Once again the planner has the name of the programme I wanted to record but when viewed it's the wrong channel. So annoying. Have Emailed them yet again.

You've powercycled the unit weekly, right? :D

Not deliberately but we have to reboot it every week when something goes wrong and the last time was a few days ago with the grainy picture.  Not that we should have tor reboot it.

My box froze last night (missed Family Guy!). Didn't make 10 days without freezing, but 9 days is still a record. But the odd thing was that Family Guy info showed the correct channel, but it recorded a different channel (for all of 12 minutes). This is an issue that I've not seen previously, so interesting you've been getting this. Guess it depends on our viewing interests.

Good that Tim has posted an email. I'll contact the guy I've spoken to previously just to get him up to date with my continued woes. Hope the developers fix this soon before I chuck the box down the bank.

Got the following response today: We are seeing this happen to others, so we are just collecting the examples that are reported to track down the cause of this. Please let us know if this is to reoccur again for you.

I sure hope it doesn't happen again.

I just spoke to someone at TCL.  Here is what he told me.

They are currently testing an update to fix a bunch of planner and EPG issues. They are expecting to be releasing that in the next "1-2 weeks".  There is also another update planned for about "4 weeks" from now targetting the sluggishness and crashing issues.

Fingers crossed, eh?

Oh joy. A couple of Failed recordings last week, and just had my 13 year old tell me that the recorded Hogans Heroes he was trying to watch (that episode for the first time AFAIK) came up with an error about a problem and check your network cable. He had to click something like OK, and that revealed the padlock screen, with "Service Unavailable". Grrrr. He has been able to watch other recorded items, and the TV still works.

Yes. I had something like that on my first TBox.  I had a recording where about 2/3 in (whether I was playing or fast-forwarding) it would come up with the network error message.  Has only happened to that one recording though.

Excellent. I mentioned earlier that after I cycled the power on my modem and T-Box, I got an update. The odd thing is that auto-updating was supposed to be fixed a long time ago, so I shouldn't have got an update then. It's possible auto-update is still not working, so keeping up a weekly power-cycle would at least guarantee that the update gets applied. I've only once seen a message on the EPG that a patch is there, so am not confident that will happen. Fingers crossed indeed!
