This announcement has made the other house occupant happy as she was struggling to get through all series she had recorded before the end of November :-)

Lol....called Sky yesterday and cancelled my Subscription based on Vodafone TV closing at the end of November. Oh well, not really too much to watch during December and January.

MikeB4:

Maybe Vodafone should not have "cancelled" their service.

I suspect it's all about the money... and they weren't making enough of it.

Leaving the lights on to appease Sky will also come at a cost for the latter I'd expect.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Happy with that. I had ordered the pod but was worried about VTV switching off in the middle of the football World Cup and the new thing not working or arriving in time and having a gap with no service.

Great news :-) I am really going to miss the 3 day rewind feature.

I've swapped over to Sky Sport Now for about the same price as Sky, And can get my football fix (Arsenal, etc), a number of ways via a range of devices.

Yeah, looked at that idea but my wife watches a lot of stuff on some of the starter channels (TLC, E! etc) so will be keeping them for now.

This is scary - two of my three VTV boxes have died in the last couple of weeks, and I've dedicated hours of my life trying to get Vodafone and Sky to resuscitate them. Among other tribulations, Vodafone told me to (a) wait while they reset it at their end, (b) take it in to the Vodafone shop, and (c) ring Sky. Sky told me to (a) wait while they reset it at their end, (b) wait till my new Sky Pods arrive in the next couple of weeks (!), and (c) wait for a call back after "I talk to my team leader about bringing your Sky Pod installation forward" (still standing by). To add insult to injury, I've been told that they can't waive the Multi Room charge because there's a ticket raised on my account, to install the new Sky Pods.

This is starting to make the installation of the VTV boxes, which I had almost bleached from my memory, look seamless.

How were the connected? WiFi or Ethernet, and did you try them on an ethernet connection if your remaining one is on Ethernet. This sounds more like a network or ruter problem becasue it would be unusual for two to fail.

I have had two failed of my six. Just stopped working. Not recently. Was the box not wifi settings.

Got one that has power but won't connect or bring up a menu. Happened just recently.

While it’s good that it’s being extended for a month or three, instead of finishing at the end of November, it’s disappointing that the only news seems to have come from Sky TV.  The official website at https://www.vodafone.co.nz/tv/ still says 30 November.

As a VTV box owner who doesn’t subscribe to Sky, and has no terrestrial DVB-T reception, and no wish to put a satellite dish on my roof, the Sky Pod with Sky Starter could be of interest, but Sky appears to have zero interest in telling me about it, or responding to enquiries.

Meanwhile, I’ve installed Emby Server on a Mac Mini with an easily found m3u8 list and epg for NZ, which can make recordings, and am using Emby on an Apple TV. That’s working fine for me so far.

Thanks Ivan - one of each,Wifi and Ethernet. Have tried them on the other, no joy. It looks like some sort of issue with connecting to Vodafone.
