Kraven:

Those having issues with sleep mode etc, do you have HDMI-CEC enabled on your TV?

I found after I turned that off on the TV all issues with coming out of standby stopped. This could have coincided with an update but worth a try anyway!

I have CEC disabled

I've noticed Sky has a 50% off for 12 months offer today (on grabone), are we going to see similar deals from Vodafone for the same thing?

Stability and reliability of the device should come before deals and specials, especially lock in deals

Couldn't agree more. I am surprised this unit was released in what appears to be a beta version, or am I being too harsh.?

If they delayed it, people would complain about the delay... The issues are frustrating but I personally prefer actually having a "beta" device than no device at all. Especially seeing all the work that goes on in here by Vodafone staff.

Yep, except for the recording limitations (which unfortunately just the part of the parcel), been able to do everything that want to do.

How long wait until it reach’s market if have to come out flawless? Only inconvenience I’ve had is to unplug it now and then, but after that it works.

Hopefully it’s fixed with latest firmware, looks like they are working hard on the product.

Last night we were experiencing micro pauses of a second or two on multiple channels. Netflix was fine.

We have experienced that too. From memory it was after we had paused or rewound live/OTA TV then FF’ed to catch up to live again.

If you hit Menu then re-select the live programme you are watching, that should/may resolve it.

But thinking further, that doesn’t explain why you were experiencing it on multiple channels. Our experience wasn’t on multiple channels.

I have to disagree. They should not have released a half-baked beta device at full price. Maybe they’re going to increase the price if/when it’s perfected.

Last night it was when we came home and turned on to vege out. We had not done any rewind etc and yes in the past it has caused that behaviour . Last night it went on for a quite a while ( or seemed like it) and we got cheesed off and looked at Netflix.

I guess that is fair comment.

As a few have noted, we are working hard to iron out the issues.   There is a new release coming with stability and bug fixes that we plan to roll out Monday night.

MikeB4:

@sansom thanks for the quick response. The firmware version on my box is   5.1.5711.06jd(NZ)/ 5.1.5711.06571102

Thanks.  We do now have another example of this happening to another user.  We are investigating (perhaps related to the recent micro-pausing reported by other GZ members here).

Is that release just for gen2? how about gen1?

Tonight when I turned my unit on I got a message saying that it was not connected to the Internet. It prompted me to go into the settings but only the parental control settings were available so there was nothing I could do to attempt to fix the connectivity problem.

After a few minutes it suddenly just continued working normally.

Is this problem going to be fixed in the next software update?
