Right on Queue! 5:40pm and my pings go straight to this.

Unbelieveable! FYI if the Image will not load for you, this is because its hosted off my own internet connection.. and its probably doing what its doing in the picture!

The image is too small to be readable.

How about using a thumbnail with a link to the FULL size image

25 minutes on hold only to be told there's another outage in Strathmore tonight... No further information was forthcoming: may have been due to maintenance, or it may be an unrelated outage - who knows??

As a side note, Vodafone need to give their CSRs a pay raise - the one who took my call sounded genuinely frustrated at the lack of information they had about the fault.

Looks like the work has shifted back to chch for today according to http://community.vodafone.co.nz/t5/Network-status/Cable-network-upgrades-Wellington-Kapiti-amp-Christchurch/m-p/188300.

Oh a side note, my ipsec vpn between my place and my parents place dropped yesterday (both ends on cable internet from VF and located in wainuimata) and now refuses to come back online. One of the wainuiomata nodes was on the list of nodes being worked on  yesterday so I am wondering if its got something to do with it. Another odd thing I am noticing is that I am unable to ping other Cable static IP addresses from home or my parents place but this works fine when I test from work. Funky things are happening.

VodafoneDylan: I just updated the network status post at http://www.vodafone.co.nz/cableupgrades/

The network engineers today completed the scheduled work listed for Upper Hutt, Wainuiomata / Lower Hutt, Karori and two of three nodes in Burma (W62 and W64). The remaining work will be carried over.

Sounds like there is lots planned for tomorrow - I'll have updated info when it's confirmed to me in the morning.

Dylan

what's the status on the remaining sites? your voda site did not mention anything about this anymore..

Certainly looks this way, my connection on C7 Just went down and has come back up, was down about 10 mins

And in the first 10 mins, its absolutely no better.. Dropped packets, latency and disconnections..

Lots more work planned for Christchurch this afternoon. There will also be a 2 minute interruption in Karori Wellington as some changes are made to the network. More details at http://www.vodafone.co.nz/cableupgrades/

this one..

VodafoneDylan: Here's the scheduled work for today. More areas may be added this afternoon depending on progress.

15/09/2015
Upper Hutt W27
Burma W61,W62,W64
Wainuiomata / Lower Hutt W45
Karori WWD
Berhampore WWK,WWL
Kapiti W80,W84,W86

then you updated us with this:

then after this update,, you have no more update on the remaining sites mentioned above... like WWK, WWL etc.
the current status on voda site is now works on CHC.

My Local Node was upgraded today (C7, Phillipstown) I have noticed now on my Modem the SNR has dropped about 1db on downstream and power level is lower, and +2-3db on Upstream, and I am now using a 3rd Channel for Upstream.  Is this related to this work?

Before (the weekend)
Before

Now
Now

Still getting Packet Loss though, the real tell-tale will be from 6pm.   Are there nodes further up the chain that need to be addressed for a noticeable improvement?
