They don't make it easy to pick a plan do they? Their website is so confusing, what's up with the 1, 2, 3 steps that tells you to choose X but steps 2 and 3 doesn't let you choose anything? What about those of us that do not need 80GB, and like a lower data plan?

There's really no incentive to change. Once we get fibre on my street, it's so long Crapfone.

so glad I made the change to Snap VDSL now.

Instead of increasing the low caps to match what they offer on ADSL they go and up the price! Nice work VF get ready to say goodbye to more of your cable subscribers.

Well they have missed the boat with those prices. UFB is going to kill there cable network.

Yes, there are much cheaper options but I wonder if there is room to negotiate at least for existing customers.

I'm in an area that won't get fibre connected for years so I looked to switch from TCL/Vodafone 130/10 to Telecom VDSL to save about $800 a year. Vodafone met the price difference more than two-thirds of the way which means I'm substantially better off than the new pricing even factoring in the $10 discount I could get from linking in my mobile account.

I'm confused. Do the packages on this page: http://www.vodafone.co.nz/broadband/high-speed-cable/ include the phone line *and* the TV option? If so, then for $149 a month, I get 130Mbps cable internet with 250GB data cap, home phone line, and "Vodafone TV" which includes a DVR. That's a pretty good deal for me as I'm still paying $155.95 for a 150GB (old TCL pricing) which doesn't include TV or phone.

Another question I have for Vodafone - with this new TV box, can I add Sky on later or would I need to get a new box?

Pretty sure that unless they have changed this dramatically it is just a normal analogue line. I have had the phone through TelstraClear for years and it is just normal, though I think it is over their own lines here in Wellington.

Over UFB the service is VOIP to the Vodafone supplied CPE, then an FXS port into the house, like pretty much everyone else on the market.

Over cable it's classic analogue lines with no VOIP. Remember, there is a seperate phone network that shadows the cable network to provide basic telephony and has done since inception - it doesn't use telecom ports.

I do find it funny though that there is an ongoing charge for caller ID and every seperate phone feature you can possibly get, still in 2013. How very 1991.....
