Tried http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZpkXnS4mNQ&feature=fvhr and it seems it will fast load the first minute then starts loading the remaining of the video at a slower pace - no stops up to one minute then the player caught up with the loading and stopped every ten seconds...

freitasm: Tried the first video on YouTube front page http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjent8cOhyM&feature=popular (SD) and it paused about 15 time in the first two minutes.

Very strange... I've been seeing buffering too but this one is streaming with no issues for me.

Edit:  Actually, 1min 55 in and now it's buffering every 3 to 4 seconds.

It looks like TelstraClear is trying a burst "buffer first minute" and slow down afterwards... But not working yet.

I've just been checkout out a few clips over the past 30 minutes and had some that are playing amazingly fast with no buffering times and a couple that still had buffering.

Something has certainly changed. I wouldn't conclusively say it's fixed fully though.

Just watching Known Universe and the play stopped a few time through it.

1:23 before I got the first buffering... oddly for the most part the marker was ahead of the red buffering progress bar ?!

28 seconds on the HD version, before the first buffering.

I got to 2:30 without any buffering, then I closed it due to needing to get some work done :)

The "buffer bar" was right underneath the playhead for most of it.

I haven't noticed any improvements. Still ridiculous amounts of buffering.

That's because it begins with static text, which is very low bitrate.

Tried to watch a video at 11:48 Sat morning - stop and start. It was painful. Maybe if we flood their CSR's with complaints calls somebody will actually take notice.

Suggest anyone with YouTube streaming performance issues rings TCL on 0508-888-800 (free call) to:
1. Log a fault under the Internet option.
2. Ask why YouTube streaming performance used to be okay, but has got worse?
3. Ask if TCL is specifically doing anything to downgrade YouTube performance.
4. Report their responses back here.

Even if only a few people do this, the results will be read here by many.
