heavenlywild: Oh wow, awesome! I wonder how much it's gonna cost us for data! Or at least bring down the 3G data prices.

Telecom has really missed out big here.

What was it that they released a couple of weeks ago??   It was a trial but a bigger area that Vodafone's launch area..

They launched a trial, but the area is minimal.

Wow, LTE is screaming fast on my iPhone 5!

I didn't have to change the APN or anything (it's a Vodafone-supplied iPhone 5). Just a quick call to 777 to have the $10 add-on enabled.

Any word on the speed of rollouts to all Auckland areas/sites? The coverage hilariously stops (according to the map) about 20 metres from both my place of work and my house!

And how much spectrum are you using (e.g. 2x20 MHz)?

Do we need to call 777 to buy the add-on? or should it be available by clicking "By other Add-ons" from the "Your plan and Add-Ons" page of "My Account" on the Vodafone web site.

I've got a smart plan, an LTE phone and am in the LTE zone.

Well this is awkward... Just last week Google released a system update for the Nexus 4 that disables the LTE-enabling hack. I updated >.<

Oh well, I'm on the Smart19 plan so I wouldn't have used it anyway...

Looking at the add ons I suspect you may be on one of the grandfathered Smart plans with 3g of Data. If this is the case I suspect you won't get the add on.  Vodafone don't seem to add new add ons to granfathered plans

Yeah, I am on a contract Smart plan that gives me 3GB of data (contract expires in June).

But I'm confused, the 4g.vodafone.co.nz website says "The waiting's over" and "To experience 4G, you’ll need a 4G upgrade add-on", but if I can't get the add-on on the plan I'm on, and I can't switch plans because I'm still on contract, how is the waiting over?  And I don't see any of those pesky little asterixes saying not on grandfathered plans.
