I've also never been called a Fangirl either - I like that one lol! In fact anything with the word "girl" in it makes me feel good - instead of old like I normally do.

langers1972: All of a sudden my TBox is really slow when navigating the menus, have rebooted but still a long delay between key press and menu.

Interesting you say this as i have started to experience the same symptoms in the last few days to the point where the lag can be as high as 10 seconds.

Also when you now use the TV guide and select a channel to view with the Ok button - it changes the channel in the background but you need to press OK again or Live TV to get to that station in full screen.

Other than that it still works well in all other regards so I am still a happy T-Box customer.
Pity as I have had a fantastic run with my T-Box without any of the issues that others here have experienced.

It's funny - my slow downs appear to have started roughly the same time as other people's.

So, I wonder what change has been made to make the TBox response even more glacial? Frown

Yeah I've noticed that behaviour too. The lag is massive and mighty frustrating.

Yip, me too.

I can try and scroll through the channels on the blue banner, more often than not the blue banner times out and vanishes before I see the scrolling take effect.

Happened approx end of last week...

This may sound like a troll but...

I used to be on TelstraClear with the ADB Set Top Box with the Irdteto Smartcard in the front which I replaced with a DM600 Dreambox with DVB-C Tuner as my PVR.  It worked faultlessly for 3+ years and only ever got rebooted when I unplugged it.  Plus it had Component out so much better picture quality on 1/2/3 than the rubbish ADB box that only had composite out. (I know there were S-Video ones, but I never had one)

Now we have 3 PVR's in our house.  MySky HDi in our front room, the DM600 Dreambox in our kitchen with a DVB-S tuner for freeview over satellite and recently a Tivo in our bedroom.  All three have never required a reboot, are pretty responsive when changing channels and the WAF is pretty high even though they all have completely different user interfaces / remotes.  She has stated that she is a complete technophobe but handles the different boxes without any training from me.

We moved to MySky HDi about 18 months ago and have never looked back.

It continues to stagger me that there are customers still paying money for the T-Box.  It's just not fit for purpose IMHO.

Come to think of it, I think it happened around the same time as the "HD Pay-per-view" movies ad appeared at the top of the planner/guide screen.

Perhaps whatever process updates that has royally screwed the performance...

I'm not seeing this slow performance - just the regular lockups at the end of some recording events. Looks like the lagging isn't global.

Maybe it's specific to certain channel package and/or HD Ticket combinations.

Nah, I don't see it either.  Hadn't noticed it, and just went to check, and it's not happening.

I think I've experienced most of the T-Box issues that have been reported here, however I've always considered myself lucky not to be effected by particularly sluggish user interface response. I would never have described the UI as "snappy", but it was adequate.

Now as many others are experiencing, parts of the UI have slowed to a crawl. The worst seems to be getting the Guide page up. Last night it took nearly 20 seconds to come up. Paging up and down through the channels doesn't seem to be too bad, but as others have reported when a different channel is selected from the Guide getting back to Live TV on the new channel is also very slow.

Gary:  For this to be experienced by many users, manifesting around the same time, and to effect users who have not previously suffered from responsiveness problems, points to something having changed.

Can you please shed some light on this?

Cheers,
Pete.

We also experienced this for a couple of nights but can put up with it. It's the blank screens and reboots that become annoying. But having said that things seem to be ok at present. Fingers crossed.

Also having very frustrating issues with the UI lag, and we've also been getting a lot of "Failed Recording" saying it has a conflict when no schedling conflict exists. Plus of course the lag and pixellation.

So over it.

Seems to be a lot slower when pressing the guide and planner buttons for them to appear.  This stuff has to go over the modem doesn't it.  Anything changed at the TCL end? This is a bit rediculous

Are people actually paying for these boxes?  I thought they were just giving them away to people who sign up for a couple of years BB access.
