Sorry if this has already been asked (I did try looking but hey, its 5:30am, I'm dying here :P) , although there was a similar question in the Faxing with VFX thread pretty much directly below this one.

If I were to signup with VFX and call divert all the calls on my Telecom line to the VFX number, would I be able to port this number over to the same VFX line on April 1st?

Thanks in advance :)

I can't answer that particular question (even though I believe the answer is yes) but on a related issue the problem is that you're an ADLS customer still going to need a Telecom line with a Telecom number from the 1st April. If you port your existing Telecom number you'll still need to pay for another one until unbundling occurs.

Yeah I know. It's for a second line - the DSL is on the primary line. I just like the number :P

It's too bad Wired Country seems to be getting worse and worse, it used to be great for VoIP. Sadly, I've had to switch to the "fantastic" Telecom ADSL network - although, sarcasm aside, I don't really have any major complaints. I live next door to the exchange! :)

Edit: Are we sure number portability isn't just an April fools joke? :D
