WXC is clearly not keen on helping people.  I mean Open VFX should be a no brainer however when I try to activate it on a HG659 from Vodafone - Vodafone have been extremely kind and helpful and nothing is blocked from their end and htier VOIP services work on the FXS port - nothing happens and the OPEN VFX number remains offline.

I have spoken several times to WXC and even offered to buy their MP264 Audiocodes Residential Gateway just so I can use the voice ports for VFX services  they are unwilling to cooperate in any manner.

The basic information supplied to activate the OPEN VFX is not enough and I am told by WXC that they have many cleints using this servcie with no issues. When I ask them if they know of customers who have UFB from Vodafone or Spark using the OPEN VFX they cannot tell.

How difficult can setting up OPEN VFX be?

I do my best to avoid running SIP on a Huawei, or on anything attached to a Huawei.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, data cabling and general computer support for home and small business.

Cel-Fi supply and installer - boost your mobile phone coverage legally
Rural Broadband RBI installer for Ultimate Broadband and Full Flavour

I have been told categorically from Vodafone and from different departments including fibre tech support guys that nothing is locked at thier end for the HG659 and they have even gone to the extent of asking me to buy any other market fibre ready gateway with FXS port and try that and if that works they are happy to reimburse the cost of the modem to me. I think that is way more than fair

#1 VFX is a carrier grade service, not a fancy version of Skype
#2 The HG659 has never been approved VFX hardware, if it does not work then it is not for them to resolve the issue of this specific device

I've got a spare Linksys AG310 that works flawlessly with VFX, let me know if you want to try it out.  (Don't buy a PAP2T-NA off eBay, they are dodgy copies.)

You can never have enough Volvos!

Or an SPA112. Ask WXC to provision config with their alternative port to 5060, as high probability the Huawei won't play nice.

Kumarstoo: WXC is clearly not keen on helping people.

Well, you have ordered a product which they very clearly say they don't provide support on

Kumarstoo:How difficult can setting up OPEN VFX be?

Very very difficult at times, which is why the auto provisioned product (VFX) is offered. Depending on the hardware you are using, setting up SIP devices (for any VoIP service, not just OpenVFX) can be very difficult - it's usually far more complex than dropping in authentication details if you want to get it running both securely and reliably.

Thanks for letting me know. Clearly its a lot more complex than it appears and even tier 2 support do not have much clue. I am still working on cracking it

I am no tkeen on adding anohter piece of hardware to the already crowded space behind my table, which is why I opted for the Open VFX. I even ofered to buy the Audiocodes MP264 from WXC however they do not want to give me full config rights and its locked in and they do not want me to use it

Support is not what I need, guidance or direction if they know better is what I need

Thanks for the offer however I am trying to resolve it without an added piece of hardware

Welcome to SIP! The more you get in to it, the more you will see just how difficult it can be. I can't offer any specific advice for the hardware you are using, but you may find picking up a second hand SPA2102 or even a new SPA112 is worthwhile, or you could spend far too much time on it...

Good luck ;-)
