I rang Vodafone to arrange broadband and a phone line because I was shifting house to just around the corner, they stated that everything would be ok and we could keep the same number because it is the same exchange, it is now a week later and I have no phone or broadband and to top it off the other tenants are using my old number at the old house, ive rung Vodafone 4 times, the first time we told them that the phone was still active around there , they stated it was not, it still is, what is the problem with a straight switch over in this day and age, they also said they are waiting for a spare port but hang on... in my mind if they disconnected the old place they would have one, anybody no any different?

Where is this? I wonder if you've become a port waiter? If so, you would have lost your old port when you moved house.

How many businesses working days notification did you provide Vodafone before the move?

Up to 10 working day notice is required as advised on the VodafoneNZ (All other ISP) websites

10 days or 10 working days? The move is passed to Chours and they are the ones that handle it thru Vodafone

Do you think it's still avtive cause when you ring your home number you hear ringing or does someone actually answer?

I have also sent you a DM asking for your account number, The 10 working days is mentiond on the page I linked off to above

@PeterQ looks like you requested VDSL and no VDSL ports free so you are a VDSL port waiter so you might want to request ADSL in the mean time

The VDSL modem HG659 does support ADSL and it's quite easy yo change the settings

Why should he have to request it?
If you request vdsl and get a port waiter, I can't think of any circumstance where you wouldn't want ADSL in the meantime. Some broadband is better than no broadband.
IMO A good ISP would immediately offer ADSL (or, even better, just straight up provision it), and not rely on the customer understanding the nuances of port waiter status.
