Just had the longest run of dropped calls ever. Even going outside on a call didnt make it any better, and to add insults when I was finally on one that worked, I got the missed call text from the vodafone voicemail.

now, on outgoing calls I can hold the phone up untill it switches to the working cellsite and shows good signal before pressing send, but no such luck on incoming ones, I can hold it in the air and it will keep ringing (or drop sometimes) and never get more signal, so answering it is typically a waste of time since one end of the call will get annoyed enough at only hearing every third word and hang up, and try again which is another call cost and more $$ spend on a call that didnt work.

I have tried contacting vodafone via their website about a three weeks ago, I finally got a reply which was a template of questions a few days ago. I initially didnt bother answering them because it looked like they were just trawling for excuses, but have now replied to them.

From the other thread about the codec problems, its quite apparant that vodafone have caused this problem.

When did the giving up of the spectrum for NZC start? I have had major problems since november last year, but nothing as bad as what it was today where even going outside didnt get the other party back. I have over the last week seen the phones show no signal when sitting on the coffeetable where they have always worked in the past.

So Paul or someone else from vodafone, am I now wasting my time trying to use your network here in beach haven? Why is your customer service team taking 2 weeks to email out a form response, and what are you going to do about it.

And another question for people on telecom. How do you find the nokia 1325 - There may be some of them turning up here if theres no improvement from vodafone. Shame I will have to get more since there are no sim cards, but having a phone that doesnt take calls is about as useful as a car with no wheels.

I would strongly advise visiting a Telecom Store or Dealer and have a play around with one first. The 1325 is a good phone; just some people with bigger fingers may not like the key pad on it.  The Samsung A420 or the new Nokia 2505 is also worth a look.

The 1100s and 1110s are fine for me and it doesnt look too much smaller keyed then those, but yeah I should really see if I can get a go on a live one (not a piece of plastic chained to the wall which is all telecom stores seem to have - 1 point to vodafone on that issue) I have a whatever the monchrome version of the 2125 that I got on the day that 025 was switched off and thats also fine sizewise - but no portability (And is really scratched from being stuck under the carseat for 3 months till I got around to unbolt it, and that was only because I was putting an amp there)

So I think that the 1325 will be ok assuming the pictures are to scale. The 2 you mentioned are flips which I would rather avoid since they dont fit in the airvent clip on car holders very well. Not interested in spending too much on a phone and at $99 that one is just bareable.

But I shall see what vodafone say about their crappy performance - for all I know it could be a mistake on their part and something they can fix. There a big park at the end of the road so ideally they would just whack a site in there IMO
