Hiya Folks,

Modem / Router is a D-link TD-W8960N

I'm getting intermittent DSL dropouts - perhaps several times an hour, sometimes once an  hour, sometimes whole hours before I get a drop out.

Have been on to Vodafone, and they can't really determine any issues on the line.

Have done the isolation tests - nothing else on the line - single jackpoint in the house.

Before I get back on the grizzle line to VF, I see in the modem's logs, a couple of bogus packets before the DSL line drops, this is always consistent when the ADSL line drops:

Sep 20 09:45:54

daemon

warn

kernel: Warning: xtm channel 0 rx bogus packet

Sep 20 09:45:54

daemon

warn

kernel: Warning: xtm channel 1 rx bogus packet

Then the re-training:

Sep 20 09:46:01

daemon

crit

kernel: Line 0: xDSL G.994 training

Sep 20 09:46:10

It also take 6 or so attempts before the account login is successful:

I have also tried an older ADSL Modem / router, a Linksys WAG54GP2 and was also getting the same intermittent dropouts.

So what is a bogus packet - noise on the line, or something else ? It's been happening for the last 3 or so weeks.

Anything I can go back to Vodafone with to assist in getting this resolved ?

Cheers
