Hi,

Ive been on the red network for a week or so now.....here are my modem stats:

Item	Downstream	Upstream	Unit
SNR Margin	6	6	dB
Line Attenuation	39	20	dB
Data Rate	7154	1072	kbps

Does the data rate fit in with the other stats im getting (line atten etc)?

Ive had a jump of around 2500kbs since I got migrated....

The Line attenuation of around 40dB should give you around 8000kbps, which isn't too far off.

At least you got an increase in speed - which must be happy.

ofcourse!

altho they stats are the best its ever been......usually around 5-6000kbs....which isnt as great as i hoped.

speedtest usually around 4500-5000kbs

notice my line atten changes from 39 t 41 sometimes too, and my snr also jumps from 6 to around 13....any ideas why?

More or less crosstalk from other pairs in the cable.

I actually sent a ticket into support today to ask about my pings.. My download upload speed seems good but actual ping times seem off to me.

check my sig for what im referring to....

My views are mine and don't necessarily reflect that of my employer.

I'm on Ultimate pack, and I get 80ms to Auckland but 40-50ms to Wellington and Napier.

I'm not sure if this is a routing issue, as it only seems to affect traffic to WorldxChange. You can also try the Vodafone Speedtest.

Yeah seems very strange indeed...

I got a 40MS ping on the Vodafone site, but still seems quite high in my view....

I'm on Ihug and in Auck CBD surely 40ms is high?

I don't know... I get around 43ms on the VF Speedtest here in Highland Park (in Howick).

It might be the backbone.
