e-mail and web mail is down.  Has been at least most of this afternoon.  No update on their status page.  I'm not changing ISP any time soon, they fill our needs, but an updated status page will be appreciated.

Move away from ISP email change to something like gmail that way you wont have to loose your email address whenever you want to change ISP (be it now, or in 2 years time).

Personally I think all ISP based email has been sliding for awhile. Xtra with their yahoo outsourcing and the bubble junk etc..

If you dont like Gmail and don't require Gigabytes of storage I can set you up with good old vanilla POP3/IMAP access on my server for no charge.

Google apps all the way! $10 US per year for a domain name or if you are keen and can follow technical instructions an NZ domain for around $25.... It is great to have the freedom to move between ISP's. A bunch of people in my family have their own email addresses on my domain and can do the same.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

For some situations ISP-based e-mail is more suitable, just like not all people want to watch You Tube (without buffering). XNet e-mail has benefits for what I need, thus sticking with it.
