Does a VOIP phone use less bytes than a softphone? In other words less of my broadband allocation? Am using 2talk.

Not normally. It all depends on the codec you are using. If you use the same codec, e.g. G.729 or G.711, on both devices, then overall bandwidth consumption would be the same.

There is a bandwidth consumption difference between codecs. E.g. G.729 uses much less than G.711.

The other difference is that WxC does not charge you for VFX bandwidth (if they are your ISP).
