On Mum's PDQ dsl connection, appears their DNS server or something in the works has gone down...had to pull out the vodem.
Connected to Matamata exchange, anyone else's not working? tried ringing the helpdesk but got the "everyone is on a call" msg then cut off.

Can't help you out with whether it's a local issue or not (I'm not in Matamata ;-)) - however the network status page shows all good to go: http://networkstatus.telstraclear.co.nz/

Are you using the paradise nameservers or the clear net name servers?

Can you login and check the status of the modem to ensure your DSL connection is fine?

Down in Tauranga. Tried multiple DNS servers to no avail.

Router is synced properly but still no connectivity.

I have three customers on TelstraClear in Auckland CBD and I can't connect to any of them. The monitoring system I have on the servers indicates they have been offline for about 3 hours.

It frustates me as a TCL customer how they give so little attention to things tha could make their customers' lives easier, such as updating a status page accordingly.

It looks like TCL operates in a "if we don't disclose then it is all working 100%" mode.

Not quite accurate, before an outage can be posted they have to isolate what it is, where it is & who it's impacting

Imagine the nework status page saying "we have a problem but we don't know what it is, where it is or who it's affecting yet please check again later".

and when they find the root cause, it is isolated, fixed and they don't disclose anyway...

Isn't that normally why the status pages are updated to say something along the lines of "Service x is currently unavailable and technicians are working to resolve the issue"?
