ashtonaut: I'm trying to get a new Spark-supplied HG659b gateway to register with a 2talk account. It's not working, hence this post.
Before I spend any time diagnosing why it isn't registering, can anyone confirm if the Spark HG659b has VOIP functionality blocked or disabled by Spark somehow? From what I've read the equivalent Vodafone product has VOIP blocked or locked down.
The user guide has a VOIP section, and I can access and configure the appropriate settings in the web interface, which raises my hopes that Spark hasn't crippled this functionality.
Has anyone used one of these gateways with a third party VOIP provider, or know if it should work? If the answer is yes I'll start troubleshooting, if no I'll just give up...

ashtonaut: I've been in contact with Spark about this issue and we have made some progress. I'm looking for volunteers to provide some testing logs. If you:
1) have a HG659 or HG659b running the latest Spark firmware,
2) are on Spark ADSL, VDSL or UFB,
3) have a 2talk account for testing, and
4) are willing to install Wireshark and capture a network log,
can you please send me a PM?
Thanks!
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
I’ve blanked out IP addresses and SIP phone numbers in the logs for the following test cases.
