Has anyone seen the rumoured ability to share Windows Updates with other computers yet?

Would you be so kind as to post a link here when that happens?

I see the setting under "Choose how you download updates" in build 10049 - does it not actually work yet?

I also see build 10061 was released last night. Will be install that this evening :)

In case anyone else finds themselves in this situation (apologies if has already been mentioned)...

I installed 10041 on an older HP laptop and had no sound.  Devices were all detected, but no sound and then apps wouldn't play music/video because they couldn't find any sound.

Turns out turning off all the "audio enhancements" sorted the problem, which was really obscure.
That section was in the audio preferences for the device, buried in one of the extra tabs under the speaker icon, lower right hand corner of the screen.

Posted just in case anyone else encounters this.

What's the general vibe for 10 on older hardware?

Windows 7 was rather legendary in this regard, being as fast or faster, and more stable on older hardware that XP.

Define "older" :)

10 is designed to run well on hardware that runs 7

Just doing an update to my work Toshiba laptop.   Started at about 12.00  and at 1.00pm it's just 24% thru.  Last time it took 20 hours and ran like a dog requiring  a complete  removal and reinstall from the ISO,

If anyone has installed 10061, are you finding the start menu wont launch again? Or works, then wont work?

10049 was a nightmare for me, so I have reverted to slow updates. At last 10049 is working again, but it has done heaps of updates since then, one update took about 6 hours. But some of the problems with 10049 was the start menu stopped working or froze, and the OS would just freeze up and partially fade to white, and would have to force a reboot. So I won't be upgrading to 10061 until it is updated on the slow track.
I am running it on a lenovo micro PC, probably 3-5 year old hardware, and everything works as it should.

Installed finished about 2.00pm.  They  fixed the network issue of not being able to change IP addresses..
