Having updated 10 x PCs to Win 10, my worst moment was more frightening than serious -
Older PC without graphics card, with monitor on an HDMI connection.
Win 10 updated my graphics drivers immediately after install, without asking.
Instant blank screen. No way of knowing what was happening.
Changing to a DVI connection brought my screen back. HDMI still doesn't work.
All better now smile

great feedback so far , i have heard there are graphics drivers issues also, thats where im a bit hesitant running a dell e6410 and being a dell we all know how driver fussy they are . ill wait for  some more feedback before hit the go button

I had a quick look on Dell's site and saw that officially they don't support the upgrade to W10 on that model laptop.

Big no for me. Worst I have seen MS produce for a long time. I have 6 machines running it, not one of them is completely stable. They are all quite different machines all having different and strangely similar issues (display). Start Menu is erratic, wifi authentication issues, multi monitor issues and incredibly frustrating, happening on 4 from 6 machines, issues with authentication when elevating permission. On my office computer I cannot add my ms account to my domain account because the box to add opens and then closes again no error.
I have issues with Indexing on some machines.

All were upgrades

W8 was pitiful from a UI perspective but stable for me on all my machines. To make it worse privacy is non existent, and transparency is poor.

None of my machines have more than 3 days uptime since I upgraded!

I am very disappointed.

yeah the issue is windows 8 was ok, despite it having a horrible interface. the issue with 10 seems to be drivers at the moment. people must have forgotten windows 8 needed 8.1, and 8.1 also had driver issues at its infancy presumably, jsut that we've all forgotten. heck even Apple updates are causing problems ;p

It may be drivers, but vendors have had plenty of time to prep drivers. I think it's worse than that. Things at MS don't seem cohesive right now. They seem to take a step forward, a step sideways, a step back and then another step sideways. 

I am not sure what they are playing at with all the information they are collecting, and I generally have little issues with privacy concerns, but it seems SO far reaching and all encompassing.

Been running win 10 since Oct and have five on it now, incl a pretty old laptop. Haven't had any real problems that weren't caused by leftovers from old installs. 

Upgraded three more without problems, including two migrating to SSD.

Very happy but I do acknowledge that there have been some combinations of hardware/drivers that have given problems for some people.

Changed my very computer illiterate wife's comp from Vista to win 10 a couple of months ago and she really didn't notice any difference! After all, a desktop with taskbar looks and acts pretty much the same in any version.

For me the fundamental question is whether I want to be part of the future or part of the past. I made my personal choice ages ago.

Dont blame Microsoft if you're having driver issues. The hardware vendors are to blame for that. It happens EVERY time. - they have so much notice of new OS releases, and plenty of time to get their drivers sorted, but they STILL can't get it right.

Oh, LOL at your comment about privacy and transparency too. If it wasn't obvious that they OPTIONALLY collect ANONYMOUS (i.e. NOT PRIVATE) DATA for various purposes, then noone would be talking about it because they wouldn't know!!! You should be more worried about the ones that AREN'T being talked about!!!

Ok, actually, 8.1 had no driver issues - it was a minor tweak to a couple of settings in Win 8, and a few changes in teh start menu - not a complete OS, and all 8.0 drivers worked fine on it. Windows 8 did have driver issues, most notably with the graphics hardware vendors.
