usually happens when multiple keyboard layouts are present. US (nz) vs US-International. Double check regional input and drop down to a single one. Other indicator is a selector near time in taskbar for NZ/US

Updated a Desktop, Laptop and mini PC to version 1803 with no major problems. The only issue I have seen so far is the mini PC Gigabyte Brix is connected to my LG LM6200 TV as the display. The Desktop screen seems to have 'come closer' in that the icons are half hidden on the left behind the screen's edge. The same on the right, top and bottom. The resolution and refresh rate are the same as before the upgrade when the icons all showed okay.

Opening Microsoft Edge in full screen mode also has the four edges hidden behind the 4 sides of the screen so the [X] Close button is not visible.

Anyone else seen this issue or know how to fix it? Am using the latest Intel HD Graphics Driver.

EDIT: Used the Scaling Feature of the Intel Driver software to adjust the picture height and width to make the edges come back into view and that fixed the problem.

Oh no, not another end of the world prediction

Ive hit the Google Chrome hanging bug
Its intermittent, but completely freezes the (brand new) PC

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-win_cortana/some-devices-may-hang-or-freeze-when-using-certain/612a341b-340a-4ac0-8866-df5346327a52?

Its acknowledged by MS & they are working on a fix.
Also some reports of Cortana causing the same freezing issue

Installed the update last night.... no issues except for needing to reconfigure power settings to my liking. Thank goodness it never stalled at 1% update again!

I've still got version 1709, so probably need to run it manually.

Edit: downloading update to 1803 now...

Started update yesterday, went quite fast to about 50% then slowed down to 82% at Midnight, 84% this morning, still at 84% 4 hours later.  Older laptop updated from win 7, so no surprises that the predatory mind set of MS doesn't care about this dinosaur. Will see what Sunday brings, not sure if there is a prayer for healing computer updates.

Most likely your hard drive is tired and needs replacing bad sectors and all, anything waiting over 3 hours is a red flag something is not right with the PC.

I actually updated a couple of Windows 7 laptops (parents-in-law) and a Windows 7 development virtual machine directly to Windows 10 with no problems. I wouldn't say is Microsoft being predatody but something on your machine - HDD needs defrag, HDD is failing, drivers need updating before doing it...

Still at 84% and seems to have stalled, though screen indicates regurgitation still happening, but 27 hours for may take awhile is into overtime rates. This happened about 4 to 6 weeks ago with an update then but was completed, so drivers would have been updated then ?? So maybe force a reboot now, opt out of any attempt to update again and do a defrag?

Surface Pro 4

Disabled Bitlocker to be sure.

Install completed without (any apparent) issues.

6 year-old generic (PB Tech, AMD) desktop, nearly new el cheapo HP laptop, HDD replaced with SDD, both updated with no problems.  Now on to my Intel Compute Stick (3 years) and that may be interesting, given the lack of memory--but seems to be going fine.

I LOVE the timeline feature -- helps amazingly.  Worth the time spent just for that.

Mine got stuck on 3%, cant be bothered trying again. It's basically a fresh install from the last major update that broke my PC, lol.
