Not on an inbound email as i quite often do. Ok on reply and forward..

Though maybe we need to start a new thread on Office 2016 ..

I just got the email on office 2016 being available to test - link to here. If we do that I assume we can back out later and go back to the versions we own? In my case it's 2003 or 2007 or something, which works fine, and I have no plans to upgrade from.

If you trial 2016 you will not want to go back to an ancient Office version, 2016 is very good

10162 seems to be pretty good on my Dell Venue 11 Pro, its been a rocky road over the last few months but looks like Microsoft is pretty much at a working OS

You know, if it's several hundred dollars for 2016 or free for the old version, I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with the old version. I use it about once a month. I'd probably go Open Office before paying for office again.

I use 365 and get a huge One Drive. Are the Office editions your using still supported?

No idea. I already own a version of Word that works for me, I use Dropbox, I've never even looked at One Drive or Office 365.

I don't much like subscription software, I'm still on Photoshop CS6 as it does everything I need and I don't want to pay significantly more over time for a subscription. I imagine in the next year or two there will be more viable competitors to Photoshop and I may switch away from the platform.

Have been testing enterprise deployment via SCCM with Windows 10. Very impressed, virtually everything "just works". Drivers so far have all just been for 8.1 and have had no incompatibilities. Rebuilt the base image with build 10162 on Monday, integrated Office 365, entire deployment takes about 18 minutes including a couple of reboots and installing drivers & a few extra apps. A few hacks here & there to tidy up some of the Enterprise-unfriendly features, but nothing too major.

All looking very promising other than a few issues with dual-graphics systems which hopefully will be ironed out with updated drivers fairly soonish.

Virtual desktop feature is brilliant.

RTM sign off is imminent, sounds like 10176 is the first RTM candidate. Only 3 weeks out from release is pushing it a bit, but given the fact they're billing it as "Windows as a service" instead of a "finished" product, they can probably get away with it.

Hopefully updates are way less intrusive than the current upgrade method, but otherwise it's looking like a winner.

I've yanked the windowed version of the Calculator app from an earlier build and reinserted it, and removed the modern version instead, because yuck.

I lost sound on an older HP laptop, but got it back by disabling all audio enhancements under the sound properties.
Latest build from a few weeks back lost sound, and the above fix didn't work this time around.
Am hoping for another build soon to restore this again!
