I purchased a Windows 8 Tablet when they  first came out and it has worked well ever since. At the same time a bought a wedge shape Microsoft travel mouse to go with it. However when upgrading to Windows 10 the mouse ceased to function. New Battery did not help. Thought it was faulty so put it aside and did not use it. However I have just been told that Microsoft did not update the drivers for the mouse.

Also last week my wife's secretary' computer has just been updated from 8 to 10 and the printer no longer works. The techy that came out to rectify the problem has failed to get it working again.

Am I correct in what I have said above?  Surely when upgrading, the existing equipment should continue to function. Can someone inform us what the position is and how we can get the existing mouse and printer to work again.

I think there is something fishy here somewhere as I updated my laptop from 8 to 10 and our network printer and Logitech cordless mouse still worked ok. What have we done wrong or not thought of?

Starting with the immediate problem, is this your mouse?

It appears windows 10 drivers are available:

Most third-party device drivers are updated by the vendor or the OEM supplier and not by Microsoft. That's why it is worth buying devices from vendors that upgrade their drivers for a long-time after you buy them.

I consider ongoing support as one of the key requirements when purchasing computer equipment. What is the use of getting a fancy device if it won't be actively supported for much longer than the warranty period? I much prefer vendors that keep their drivers up to date. For example, my 13 year old HP Color LaserJet has up-to-date Windows 10 drivers. My 9 year old Lenovo laptop likewise.

What is the make and model of your printer?

Thank you for your reply re the mouse driver. I clicked on the link and downloaded the driver and the mouse now works perfectly. Your advice was appreciated.

I will go to my wife's business in next day or so check out model of printer and see if I can find new drivers on the Brands' web site. All I know at this stage is that is a Lazer printer.

Again, thank you for your reply.
