We've got a Macbook Pro 2012 and last year we got a new canon printer connected and everything works ok

when I turn the Macbook on I sometimes get an error message saying something about an Epson printer (our old printer) is not optiomised for the Macbook - or words to that effect.

but when I go into system preferences and click on Printers and Scanners - there is nothing listed there... I was hoping that's where I would see it so I can remove / Uninstall it

So does anyone know how can I remove our old Epson printer and all associated files from the Macbook? - any advice would be appreciated

thanks

May want to check if you have some old software installed in applications or Utilities that might be causing the issue.

Stop once you get to step 8.

thanks for that but under 'Printers and Scanners' there is no Epson printer listed - only the new canon printer bought last year

Is the Epson folder in the /Library/Printers there?

The other thing to try is this https://epson.com/Support/wa00584

It may be the printer driver itself has gone, but all the extra junk that it installs is still floating around and trying to run at login.

thanks - when I go to the launchpad there are 3 Epson things there - scan settings, web support, low ink reminder - but they don't do anything

Probably just aliases to utilities that don't exist any more. Should be able to click and hold on it until it wobbles, then click the X to get rid of it.

ok thanks for that - when I click on it and hold it until they all wobble, the x appears next to something I don't want to get rid of - and I'm too scared to click the x in case the wrong thing disappears
