Hey guys,

Last August I purchased a set of gold clubs from The Warehouse. The golf clubs themselves are fine but the bag has been falling apart. "No worries I'll just return it" I thought, however I can't find the receipt anywhere, the only thing I have is my bank statement showing a purchase at The Warehouse.

Has anyone been in this situation before and/ or know if there's anything I can do?

Cheers

A proof of payment is usually fine, I can return things no issue with a statement.

I've successfully dealt with DSE without a receipt (for a Seagate HDD). I was able to give them the date and they found the transaction in their system.

The warehouse is usually pretty good with this stuff, especially with a bank statement. I had a broken fan I got from them, it broke, took it back without receipt and they swapped it then and there. Didnt even check the records or anything which saved a lot of hassle.

If the item is a house brand that only they sell, it makes it a lot easier to confirm that it was purchased from a retailer, without the need for a receipt.

Returned stuff to the warehouse (dargaville) a couple of times without receipts and they were fine with it.

Not sure "spillchecking" but "must of" instead of "must have" ;)

I just got a replacement Apple cable today from Noel Leeming that I returned with only proof of purchase being my credit card statement. I'm normally good at holding onto receipts but obviously not in this case!

I scan all my receipts, name the files by retailer and product, when I need to return things it's a quick search with windows program "everything", print, and take back. I do the same with all manuals (download preferred of course) and important correspondence. It's annoying the odd occasion I forget to, but super helpful most of the time.

I wonder if retailers would accept photos of receipts. There must be an iPhone app out there for that. Although they commonly say "with original receipt only" which won't include photos or scans.

timmmay - how do retailers react to your scanned receipts?
