DaveB: A man's got to take a lot of punishment to write a really funny book. (Ernest Hemingway)
J C's next book will be a lot funnier than C E's.
And will sell 20 times as many copies, I'd think.
Man the new Honda NSX looks so so SO pretty, and boy does it look like it's fast.
If you watched Extra gear tonight, they had all the hosts sitting on the couches, apart from Evans, to discuss the previous show. They started by saying, lets discuss the monkey in the room, which I thought they were gong to say why Evans wasn't there, but they didn't. They instead discussed the challenge they all had in the final episode. So I wonder if it was a little bit of a play with the Audience, that things are about to change. They have certainly cut down Evans a lot from the show, and he is less shouty than he was, so he is certainly playing to the script.

It looked a lot better than the BMW electric vehicle that Harris was driving. But it was sort of a hybrid of styles of a few cars, and the build quality looked a bit cheap.
Ouch, but expected after the ratings going down hill.

Expected before episode 1 was even transmitted if I am honest!
Haven;t even watched the new season, his smug look was enough to put me off. Id say the rumours of sexual harassment are the final nail in the coffin, with the storm the BBC has weathered for the past few years with sexual assaults they will want to distance themselves as much as possible.
Watched episode three last night... or TBH about half of it, as I found myself just needing to fast forward most of the studio-based content. I know a lot has been said about Evans' voice and tone - does he sound anything like that on his radio show? It is truly painful to listen to!
I know a lot of the discussion online has been about who they will replace Evans with, but I really don't care if they just stick with the remaining team, as in itself the removal of Evans will make the show much more watchable. Nothing like the entertainment value of the three idiots, but I'd still watch it.
Here's hoping the next series is just a lot less try-hard; it currently reeks of trying to replicate the show as it was under the three idiots, whereas they'd be better off to loosen those shackles somewhat...

Have you heard normal radio from the UK? Its all shouty crap like that guy and excessive BS talk.
Nup. Don't listen to commercial radio full stop - drives me crazy.
As I suggested: "BBC says it will not replace Evans on Top Gear"

Having Mr Evans trying too hard to be Jeremy wasn't the right approach, but there is definitely potential with the others. Still on the fence about Matt. He can have an effective, dry wit at times. And I'm hoping his flat performances at other times may have been due to a lack of chemistry with his co-lead.
I wish they'd do away with the: 'Some say he sleeps in a turbocharger...' etc. bits when introducing the Stig. It's fine to keep using the Stig (as it evens out the test driving/lap times and they can use a different driver if necessary) just stop trying to be like Jeremy when introducing him.
Other than that, and shouty awkward Chris, I think the show is OK. Once the presenters get a bit of chemistry with CL gone, it will be OK.

I don't think they need to. Bring Sabine, Rory, & Chris further forward in the mix, and wait for the chemistry to set in. I'm actually quite enjoying the show, but it does need to find it's own voice which is distinct from Clarkson & Co.

Yeah, agree with the above.
I think back to how different Le Blanc was on the "Africa" challenge (episode 2? So far the most enjoyable part of the three episodes I've watched thus far), where he clearly got on well with his co-driver (Tinie Tempah), so hopefully will see more of that side of him.

Personally, I really hoped they'd have got rid of the Stig - it's just so old hat now, and time for a new approach.
I guess they need to test out new ideas, hence why we probably need to put up with some cringe-worthy moments, but hopefully they'll have learned from their (many) mistakes by the time the next series kicks off.
