I remember when we didn't have a TV - and neither did anybody else.
I can't remember that far back. But I can remember black and white TV with only one channel available. I can remember when South Pacific Television (later to be TV2) came along circa 1976.

It wasn't live on TV in NZ.
NZ didn't have the equipment for live TV satellite reception (until that large dish was installed in Warkworth area - is it still there?).
So it was recorded on tape in Australia, then the tape flown across the Tasman in an RNZAF Canberra jet - to be screened some hours later.
Having to wee in the middle of the night
You can remember when Councils did the basics (Water / Sewage / Rubbish / Streets etc) right!
Not all the Empire Building / Rates rises for irrelevant stuff, and NOT get the basics right anymore!
You can remember seeing the original Star Wars when it came out, with your father at Leicester Square....!

Still would. Because then I would have to get down there to pick them up - which would mean getting up again...!

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
When people say how many old people there are now, and you reply "What old people?" Everyone seems to be much younger than in the past.
