I just watched ep2&3 on the tivo ... Fast forwarded thru all the talking. I have to say the car bits are ok. 99% engine and tyre noise.

I think it's a mistake not replacing CE with another presenter. The balance isn't right I don't think.

I have only watched two episodes. I was a big fan of the previous seasons, the current one ....... meh!

In my opinion Evans was just irritating, rude and shouty. Matt was better that I had expected, and Sabine was excellent. The other presenters I could take or leave.

I actually think they have too many presenters, and should drop it back to three. Matt and Sabine, and possibly Rory as a third. That could work well.

I find the challenges a bit more rational. Challenges still good to watch. Although ep4. Surely frantically tasking a sharp long knife while the driver is not concentrating at 100ks is a bad idea?!

But they can never do epic challenges. We leave that to Amazon.

Ep 5... Driving over 14 hrs of fatigue and then in the last 2 hours speeding with zero sleep overnight ... Either it's not real or really dumb.

Ep 6 can't remember what happened.

I think MLB will lead the show, it's become his show. I don't think Eddie Jordan adds anything to the show. Keep the rest. A trio won't work because the last trio had chemistry built over years.

Somehow i have to say the show is still relevant. Or has relevance. Or has relevance forcefully carved into it.

Except if you've done it for a living... Like most NZ truck drivers. :D

The car would've had to stop for fuel multiple times.

You get used to it.

True about Sabine - she can be the occasional guest.

That makes it a trio. But what sort of banter could they come up with ... maybe send the 3 boys on a Bear Grylls SAS style survival camp. That'll bond them for sure.

What's missing with the banter, isn't really possible if MLB is main contender, because as much as he loves cars, he doesn't have near the same historical car knowledge that the original 3 had. May obviously had the details, but the other two had storied vehicle pasts, both personally and due to other projects they were involved in.

MLB as the main presenter doesn't quite feel right as he is an American leading a British show.

When I see him, I just wonder why he is even there. It is an odd assortment of hosts, most of who have no chemistry with one another. Maybe they should turn it into a version of Blackadder, eg, Blackadder with cars, and have Rohan Atkinson (who is a car nut), along with Baldric and Le Blanc, who is a 'comedy' actor too.

Perhaps another comedian. But I think it needs a Trio, because you can't gang up and take the piss out of someone with a duo. Harris, LeBlanc and Atkinson maybe, although Atkinson is very introverted when he is offscreen. But really like the idea of Mr Bean hosting a car show, and will probably make it more of a hit in the US, where he is quite well known.
