Heard NOTHING from TM - what a surprise NOT! Listings are still up!

Seller has just emailed:

On the feedback you placed, you state " unsure if is for 230V".

The answer is YES. the power plug can accept INPUT 100-240V power,

it's suitable for NZ electricity standards.

Geez - which part of illegal don't they understand!

You stop listing illegal items.

You can refund the item.

Preferably the illegal item I have should be binned! Alternatively you can organise a Courier to pick the item up.

you are dealing with some for whom English is not their first language and it seems they are only on there to make a quick buck by selling sub $20 lamps from aliexpress for a huge markup. dont expect them to try and follow the rules/laws.

Ask them for a SDOC for their item and ask if they believe it fits into medium or high risk, its been a while since I have been involved with writing them for lamps and I cant recall which category it would be in.

There is a list here. If they do not give you one then report to worksafe.

A refund has just been received! (Advised by the Seller, and TM After that)

No mention of what to do with the lamp!

(Can't really demand an SDOC Now that "I'm not the owner anymore")

Report them anyway, chances are they have been doing this for a long time. Some kid will end up with a blast from the dodgey US plug and travel adapter at some point.

Are you talking parallel or perpendicular?

If parallel you require much more space to drive straight in than reversing in. And if perpendicular, I always reverse into perpendicular car parks. I find I have better visibility reversing in than reversing out. If my actions to avoid causing an accident delays you by 10 seconds then I make no apology for it.

(I do not drive a Ranger)

Meanwhile, the new emoji in Teams annoy me. It's like they're trying to look more realistic or something, when they're fundamentally supposed to be cartoony. It also annoys me that they just changed without warning, and without an app update. Is the Teams client just embedding web pages or something? (Although at 263 MB I hope it's doing more than that...)

The new emojis are horrible, I can barely tell the different ones apart. I first thought it was some bug which made them all a strange saturation or that the colors looked like they were for some high contrast mode or something.

Have no idea why they spent all that time updating the already OK emojis instead of adding more!

They are doing the right thing. You need to breath and let them take their time parking the safest way.

Just do some Googling on "Reverse parking safety" and you will see why.

If it’s by a public charger, then I need to back into the spot. Usually in a quieter part of the car park, but sometimes in a ‘privileged’ spot, which has higher traffic flow. A reversing camera with dynamic guidelines makes it easier, but spaces with a width more suitable for a golf cart do provide a challenge. Personally, I would rather park a distance from the mall and be able take my time getting the park right, than park four paces from the door. If it’s pouring with rain I’m not going to faff about plugging in for some free ergs.

Going back to Stu’s original post, as a sedan driver, maybe we should ban higher vehicles like Santa Fe and Rangers from using perpendicular parking? (I am joking). Or make make cross traffic alert mandatory on all new (or used import) vehicles, after all, if it saves one life it will be worth it (/s).

Where I can see it being annoying is reversing into an angle park, so you are facing towards traffic. I have experienced this on multiple occasions in country towns, where it blocks traffic on both sides of the road simultaneously.
