Where I can see it being annoying is reversing into an angle park, so you are facing towards traffic. I have experienced this on multiple occasions in country towns, where it blocks traffic on both sides of the road simultaneously.

I'm sure I read that this is an offence, but can't find it right now.

People that hold up traffic trying to back their ranger or Santa Fe into a car park when they could of just driven straight into the park

People who forward park in the perpendicular spaces at supermarkets and then later stand in the rain, blocking traffic, while unloading their trolley into the boot. But at least the covered walkway has kept the front half metre of their car dry!

I know it's a valid business model but...

Companies that are nothing but importers with a brand. My wife bought a dishwashing liquid this week. The company has all greenwashing signs on the package and it's "NZ Owned".

In small print, the company name is "[Something] Marketing Ltd". The product itself is "Made in PRC".

These people import dishwashing liquid by the gallon and fill small plastic sachets. Going by the name I have the impression they don't even have a hand in developing the product.

It used to be these things happened a lot on Kickstarter. It also happens in supermarkets (I know the supermarket's brand is a similar case but the small companies piss me off with the whole hiding strategies they use).

Quite possibly. But then again so is speeding, crossing a double yellow line, sounding your horn 10pm-7am when not in an emergency, using your cellphone, etc, etc………

They've got a dedicated section on their website to being green that even states

Yet their self-service checkouts print out poxy discount vouchers even when you select 'No Receipt' because I guess the mighty dollar trumps everything else and they continue to have a contract with a petrol retail company. Are those thermal pieces of paper even recyclable?

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Petty tribalism and hateful behaviour in the name of sport.

The UEFA Champions League final has had a lot of press coverage this last few days due to the crowd issues pre-game, but spare a thought for those that paid a fortune to see their favourite team play in a big final overseas, but never made it because the coach company they booked through never turned up.

A number of Liverpool fans (including young children) were left high and dry when their coach (probably more than one) failed to arrive at pickup. They'd booked ahead of time, got the timing right to get them to Paris with plenty of time to spare and then just waited...and waited...and waited.

What grinds my gears is the fans from rival teams that looked at these stories and pictures of distraught fans that had spent an absolute fortune on tickets and travel, got themselves all hyped up and excited for the trip/game (and then just ended up standing at the side of the road) and posted vile and unnecessary things on social media.

The internet was full of memes (including a couple by rival players!!) taking much glee in the Liverpool fans' predicament.

I'm no Liverpool fan, but I do like to think of myself as a reasonable human being and I simply can't see how anyone can take any joy in another's suffering.

Ever noticed how people know the rules when a police officer is present, but seem to forget them otherwise?

Its the same one as parking on the wrong side of the road which english people get angry when ticketed for because its fine back home.

And the vouchers are useless most of the time because its the same amount as you get off at the servo anyway when you use your flybuys or airpoints cards. They have killed off the spend $x00 and get 20c a liter off deals because of people thinking thats why prices were high, so now you get the same 6c that you get without that waste of paper.

I have been known to drop that part of it on the ground and only keep the useful part of the reciept.

If referring to that anglepoise lamp, they are very common, there is one on the bench behind me, 30? 40? years old. Yes, it has an NZ plug on it. They should have the metalwork earthed but never did. As far as voltage goes, you put a 230 volt bulb in it - (if you have anything between the ears) and it is hard to buy 110 volt bulbs in this country anyway.

As for the comment "pretty common for devices to be designed to handle any voltage between 100 and 250", we're talking light bulbs if relating to the picture of the lamp and the right bulb has to be fitted.

The device is the lamp, not the bulb. Since the lamp has a USA plug, it presumably meets American standards, meaning the current it has to deal with here will only be about half of what it is designed for. That gives it plenty of safety margin. The fitting will be Edison and any compatible bulb can go into it. If someone is able to source an American one, it will simply behave like a fuse. Nothing to see here. Especially if it is dark.

So fit a NZ plug and a 230 volt LED and the current will be down a lot more and global warming will be helped, except if it is a cold night and an extra heater is needed to replace the heat from the incandescent bulb.

No, you can't win. But you might get an angle on it (anglepoise).

If it's Edison screw base for the bulb, check that the base is E27 (UK/EU), not E26 (USA). There's a possible safety issue:
