Speaking as a British person, few of us are very well disposed to him. It's cultural and I doubt Kiwis would feel the same way about it the same as British people - myself included - do not understand things that go on here sometimes. That's life.
freitasm: Exactly. Even if there was a good reason for their treatment of the couple, not allowing him to wear an uniform is just... Crap.
If you read that article it seems he has been allowed to wear one of his uniforms.
There are different uniforms for different purposes. There is a uniform relating to his military service. Harry would gave had an honouary commission bestowed upon him by the Queen which would have had it's own uniform. When he gave up his job as a royal he also relinquished that commission and the right to wear that uniform. I do wonder if a lot of the hoo haa is around the wearing or not of this uniform.
I think the whole saga about the rift between Harry , Megan and "The Firm" has been given plenty of colour by the media.
Also there is the U.S. interpretation on how royal protocol works and what actually happens in reality. To give a parallel example just look at the British protocols around saluting and then compare to what they do in the U.S.
I really don't think Megan had the faintest idea about how it all worked and then got her nose out of joint when she found it didn't work as she expected. I feel sorry for Harry. I think he has a wife who doesn't understand the history of the royal family and the protocols that go with that. He has to by loyal to her while still trying to follow protocol. Heading off to live in the U.S. was probably a way out.
We never get to hear the complete story. The way I see it choosing to go your own path also means there will be changes and consequences, like not being able to wear a uniform. Also when you also start throwing stones you must expect some form of reaction.
From what I've read there have been a few bridge building events during the last week or so. Not all opportunities to heal the rift have been wasted.

Not to be confused with the Dalliard reaction.
MikeB4:Two tours of duty in harms way and this is how they treat him.
I also feel the same way about Prince Andrew. I mean, he is an arse, but he also put his life on the line for his country (among other things he flew as an Exocet missile decoy during the Falklands war), not letting him wear uniform was pretty mean.

MikeB4: Prince Harry trained and graduated from Sandhurst Military Academy. His rank was not honorary. He served in harms way and earned the medals he has earned.
I wasn't talking about the rank he achieved while serving in the military, those ranks were never in question as far as I was concerned. I was talking about these ranks, Captain General Royal Marines, Honorary Air Commandant, RAF Honington and Commodore-in-Chief, Small Ships and Diving, Royal Naval Command, which are all honouary and were bestowed by Her Majesty the Queen and returned when Harry opted to relinqish his Royal duties.

He will wear a uniform when standing guard. He was not allowed to wear a uniform when walking behind the Queen's casket from Buckingham to Westminster.
He served in the military, it was not a honorary commission.

This explains the whys and where fors.
"“As a retired serviceman, Harry would always be able to wear his medals, but no longer could he wear uniform as Captain General of the Royal Marines, Honorary Air Force Commandant of the Royal Air Force Base Honington, and honorary Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Navy’s Small Ships and Diving Operations,” they wrote in their book Finding Freedom. “[It’s been] a tough pill to swallow and the one that has been most painful to Meghan witness him go through. It’s the one that made Harry emotional.”"
Absolute crap. He should be allowed to wear the uniform with the last non-honorary rank he achieved.
"“Prince Harry served with distinction. He served in the army with distinction, rising in the ranks. He did two tours of Afghanistan. He still works with veterans and promotes support for wounded men and women. Plus, he started the Invictus Games [a sporting event for wounded servicemen and women]. If there was anyone between the both of them who has the right to wear a uniform, then it’s Prince Harry,” Mos-Shogbamimu said. "
I agree.

That was Epstein, not Andrew. Andrew was an arse, but he wasn't Epstein.

You don’t pay settlement for being an arse.
Many do. In US courts in particular settlements are extremely common because it's far easier and quicker than going to trial. In Andrew's case in particular, given his total train wreck Newsnight interview, you can guarantee his lawyers would have told him "for God's sake, settle!".
Again, I'm not defending the guy, but making the point that if you're going to comment on whether he should be allowed to wear a uniform, base it on what he did, not what Epstein did.
Replacing the dipped beam bulbs on my VF Commodore.
Particularly the driver's side which involves jacking up the car, removing the front wheel, unscrewing the wheelguard lining and squeezing my hand through various gaps and cavities (OK size for a 5-year old's hand but not for a grown man) to unplug and unclip the old one, then re-clipping and re-plugging the replacement, all unsighted. Then re-assembling.
Passenger side was bliss in comparison. It 'only' involves removing the airfilter box and you can access through the top. Still as tight and dark as a duck's backside though.
Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?
