What's missing with the banter, isn't really possible if MLB is main contender, because as much as he loves cars, he doesn't have near the same historical car knowledge that the original 3 had. May obviously had the details, but the other two had storied vehicle pasts, both personally and due to other projects they were involved in. 

MLB as the main presenter doesn't quite feel right as he is an American leading a British show. 

 

Perhaps another comedian. But I think it needs a Trio, because you can't gang up and take the piss out of someone with a duo. Harris, LeBlanc and Atkinson maybe, although Atkinson is very introverted when he is offscreen. But really like the idea of Mr Bean hosting a car show, and will probably make it more of a hit in the US, where he is quite well known.
