gzt:
one defence of his actions was "The data has been anonymized so what's the problem?" 🤦‍♂️🙄

Needless to say, that has yet to be established in court and it's only one possible factor in the trial and sentence. Sue Gray does seem to be a competent defender some of the time. I'm assuming his lawyer will be Grey.

The key question here to the nut jobs is "is it ok to give anonymised data about you, and the people involved in your conspiracy to all governments in the world ?"

A: Yes. Ok we will do that

A: No. you have admitted it is unacceptable.

Yes I get the impression they're fine with sharing everyone else's data, just not their own.

It's like those televangelists in the US who preach something along the lines of, "Jesus loves me...but I'm not so sure about you"

This guy had me all the way, almost until the end.

Anti-vaxxer Roger Blake sold bleach as a cure for Covid-19, now he’s in temporary custody - NZ Herald

Nah, joking.

I think these people are either the most useful idiots, the stupidest people alive, or just playing a long con.

I am not even quoting parts. You have to read the article.

Well here is another one that needs to be put under surveillance...or prison, for a LONG time.

This is borderline terrorism.

This Vinny (or Vincent) character has a long history of being an a-hole in general: https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/2814953/Australian-Maori-guru-arrested

Robert Deutsch, ugh. His page is quite a read. "Current Geoengineering Conditions" , "cat 2-3 hits QLD in around 10 days..prepare now", and then there's the replies "They are seeding s.a tonight" - with a photo of some clouds 😃
No one calls him out weeks later when his predictions didn't happen.

He's made the news in the past https://www.aap.com.au/factcheck/conspiracy-claims-about-nsw-and-queensland-floods-fall-flat/

and grifts trips from his faithful followers

Good on the mayor, I probably would have done something similar in the same position, although maybe not with such colourful language.

I think that this would have been my first draft but not necessarily the one sent. :-)

The only way to guarantee that something isn't sent is not to write it. David Lange found that out when he scrawled something about the writer being a shrew anpd it was included in the letter sent.

My immediate thought is to wonder about their email systems

There is a tax on Gambling, but unfortunately not enough to reduce Gambling outlets.
