Not a headline, but a paragraph from today's infrastructure announcement. Hope you wellinton guys enjoy your $211 for your trains imporvements! (copy and paste below - no edits by me!)

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/119105125/government-announces-billions-of-spending-with-roads-the-big-winner

"Despite the focus on roading, the Government announced three large rail projects, including $371 million to extend electrification of Auckland's rail network from Papakura to Pukekohe. Wellington will also see an injection of cash to its commuter rail network, with $211 for imporvements to the connections between Wellinton, the Wairarapa and Palmerston North."

And another spotted... Where is this Norhern Link in Tuarnaga?

"High-profile and contentious roads will be funded and brought forward, including the Tauranga Norhern Link,  Penlink, and Mill Road, as well as the extending a four-lane expressway on SH2 from Te Puna to Omokaroa."

"One of the reasons why construction can begin so quickly is that many of these roads, including the Tuarnaga Northern Link were planned under the previous Government, but delayed under the coalition's new transport plan."

Has the spell checker gone on holiday and not come back?

Unfortunately streaming is not permitted in this country
Apparently, you are outside your country’s borders

Zattoo has a direct HD link to CNN. Sometimes it produces the above message. Usually the stream works correctly on the second or third attempt. Apart from that, the message is not exactly coherent, which is why I have chosen to place it here.

I'm sure they meant to say impoverishments, because that's all $211 will get them. 😔

Stuff "business news":

Speculating about speculation about something the journalist knows nothing about - might impact on property speculators.

Nah - he stated a while ago:

I can understand perfectly how the report of my illness got about, I have even heard on good authority that I was dead. James Ross Clemens, a cousin of mine, was seriously ill two or three weeks ago in London, but is well now. The report of my illness grew out of his illness. The report of my death was an exaggeration.

Headline for video on the Stuff website: Coronavirus: Two hospitals built at shockingly fast pace

and the video is in this article. https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/119201457/wuhan-evacuation-plan-new-zealanders-to-be-charged-500

Hint, you don't see much which shows any evidence of a shockingly fast build

DarthKermit: Any resemblance to journalism the rubbish on stuff has is entirely coincidental.

Disagree. Stuff publish a huge amount of excellent journalism.

Yeah, they also do some clickbaiting to pay for it, and one or two commenters here spend way too much time clicking on that stuff and then complaining about it.

The Herald is paywalled at a cost of $199 per year. The excellent public service provided by Stuff is paid for.

Breaking News: UK leaves the EU

Is it really "breaking" if we knew it was going to happen?
