I’m all for changes which usually come with enhancements. I look forward to the improvements between different Windows OS’s for example.

It’s not much fun however when there’s changes to a tool that you practically live on to do your job that completely changes your workflow and your MO or preferred method of madness.

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.

I notice lots of references to working 9 to 5 in media recently. Always annoys me, don't know anyone who works 9 to 5. I've worked 8-4:35, 8:30-5, and now 7 to 5. YMMV.

Handle9: It looks like time for the annual AML BS. TSB complained that they had a letter returned that they sent to my residential, which is unsurprising given there is no residential mail delivery in the UAE. They have been told this but of course couldn’t possibly email the correspondence.

Now they have advised they will call me which will be another screw up. They generally call at 3am which of course will go unanswered. I have to explain every time that we aren’t NZ residents, we don’t have a residential mailing address and yes we will send a fair chunk of funds to NZ a few times a year, just like we have for the last 4 years. It’s like dealing with the Clamperts.

Their email suggested that I message or email them to suggest a time to call. I did that immediately. Of course they didn’t call at the proposed time or every respond 4 days later.

Inevitably this will end with them threatening to freeze our accounts because they couldn’t get hold of us. I really wish I wasn’t married to these guys for another 3 1/2 years.

Yep I remember those things back in the ‘70s - and you can still get them:

I threw one of those out a few months ago. Someone had given it to me years ago and I kept it in my junk draw until eventually I decided that I'm never going to use it.

Face ID! Handy to login to your android device etc, but you should NEVER link it to anything such as your banking app.

Just setup on my galaxy droid and was easily spoofed using a photo of me!

Also pretty sure I just saw a wasp flying around as I type. Got rolled up paper and now can't located. Damn that is annoying as he gonna pop up soon.

Face ID is an apple thing that works quite well. Other phones have crap that can be spoofed really easily as you have found.

What's the difference, is it hardware? I know the Windows face rec needs an IR camera to work, I guess that's less easily spoofed by pictures.

Yes, Apple use a 3d scan of your face from the front facing depth camera. Android phones use a "that looks good enough" photo comparison. with some implementations looking for movement but not all. Can be triggered with a photo that you move around when we have a play with a samsung a while ago. Its not stupid enough to work with a picture on a screen but printed out it was. Didn't even need to be cut out of the background.

Can Apple Face ID be spoofed? I was able to spoof using recent photo displayed on screen. Also screen photo had a full beard.
