At the end of a phone call I asked the person I was helping the standard offer if he needed me for anything else while he had me on the phone, to which he jokingly asked if I could make him a coffee.

So, in an attempt to return the cheekiness I googled the town he’s in along with coffee delivery and despite him being in a tourist town there’s nothing available.

Recent purchased a new Samsung Galaxy A03 android phone.

One thing that is really annoying is the supplied USB-A cable small end appears to be slightly shorter and will only charge the phone and nothing else!!!

I am wondering if it is indeed a faulty cable or by design???

Some USB cables are charge only. They don't have data lines.

Edit: I think I misread your post. You mean it doesn't connect to any other standard USB port?

Buying something from Countdown (and not taking a receipt), getting it home, finding that it tastes horrible, then realising that it expired three months ago.

heck yeah this annoy. If you find one of those cut it in half and throw it away asap else it’ll come back to bite you after digging it out of your junk draw one day. Speaking from experience

Overnight delivery.

Picked up yesterday. “Estimated” delivery today. That’s not overnight. That’s “possibly overnight”!

Also it isn’t here despite arriving in Christchurch at 0400. It won’t be here now until tomorrow. So definitely not overnight.

If it's CourierPost then it is RARELY overnight now for overnight parcels inter-island!

Seems that it depends how its sent. Small sellers like us at work where its manually sorted it seems to be doing ok, large sellers with the presort getting the cheap prices are where they are dropping the service.

The USB-A end is about 1 mm shorter. I'm taking your advice on that and a good reminder to bin older maybe just a little worn cables too!

Was driving home today on SH1 and a cop car speeds past. They had to stop for the road works stop / go lights. A car that had pulled over for them attempts to drive along side and thinks better of it. The cop car then goes in between road codes (middle no go zone) to skip past all the traffic in my lane. Said car attempts to follow. Not really sure what they were doing!

Unmarked police car or similar that had called in the first one for support?

Marked police car lights flashing. Dog patrol wagon I think.

I hope you took it back anyway? If you use a onecard, did you know the receipts are in the app?

Contact the manufacturer's customer service line directly. Not only will they review the feedback to ensure there was nothing wrong with the batch in question they'll normally send out a voucher for a replacement. At least that's what we do!

Handle9: It looks like time for the annual AML BS. TSB complained that they had a letter returned that they sent to my residential, which is unsurprising given there is no residential mail delivery in the UAE. They have been told this but of course couldn’t possibly email the correspondence.

Now they have advised they will call me which will be another screw up. They generally call at 3am which of course will go unanswered. I have to explain every time that we aren’t NZ residents, we don’t have a residential mailing address and yes we will send a fair chunk of funds to NZ a few times a year, just like we have for the last 4 years. It’s like dealing with the Clamperts.

Their email suggested that I message or email them to suggest a time to call. I did that immediately. Of course they didn’t call at the proposed time or every respond 4 days later.

Inevitably this will end with them threatening to freeze our accounts because they couldn’t get hold of us. I really wish I wasn’t married to these guys for another 3 1/2 years.

The useless TSB continues to be useless. I gave them 5 days notice this time with a slot to call me. They responded after 6 days.

Of course their canned message said they would respond within 48 hours. The person messaging me asked me to call them during their business hours.

That’ll be a big no old mate. You want to contact me, I’ve tried to help you make this happen. You don’t care to respond in a timely way, why would I care and pay for an international call?
