networkn:

My big 2021 goal is to kick procrastination out of my life.

Same for me.

Well, maybe 2022.

OK, 2023, no need to rush these things.

Well, definitely 2024. Or 2025.

I actually bought two very highly rated books. I'll definately start them tomorrow, or the day after. Definitely by the weekend :)

You have no idea how much this makes me smile...

8 minutes to do the first Win10 Reboot required update of the year and everything has been started and is actually working :-)

(My computer does lots 24 hours a day, everything from email and web to ADSB, 4 other SDR's doing stuff. earthquake sensor monitoring, video surveillance etc, as well as stuff feeding multiple comports)

This is the best restart that I have ever had with Win10. No point buying lotto or a raffle, I have used up my good luck quota for the year!

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Kinda depressing when the best thing you can say about the world's most widely-used operating system from a billion-dollar corporation is that it didn't trash your computer at random for no reason.

Laughed at this...

Freshly Roasted Peanuts (still warm) with flaky salt on top, with a glass of Feijoa and Grapefruit Juice.

The great joy of hitting “unsubscribe” to a huge swathe of useless emails over the past few weeks. Combined with zero notifications other than calls and texts set on my phone, and never watching or listening to the news, life is absurdly, wonderfully peaceful.

After nearly a decade of procrastinating, this weekend I finally got around to cabling ethernet to the bedroom where my PC is located.  I got fed up with slow wifi speeds on my network, so spent Saturday in the roof running cables and setting up ethernet jacks.  Very satisfying to run a speed test and see speeds of 800mbps+ on my local network where previously I could barely manage 4mbps.

Not a professional job by any means, and still kinda "hacky", but sufficient for my needs.

The power use of my new MacBook Air with M1 Chip. It has been running on battery since Sunday afternoon. Last night when I went to bed I just closed the lid and put it on my desk. I have been using most of the morning so far and it is still at 88% charge. Impressive.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
