I just got my first 230V mains shock.
My piece of junk Whirlpool oven has a tiny plastic switch cover designed to fail after 5 years of use. Of course it's irreplaceable, and such a common problem the motherboard is unavailable also.
I pulled out the teeny tiny switch.
I was expecting 5 to 12 V current flowing through it and its tiny wires, and been using it for months.
I touched both contacts on the back, and got a mains shock.
Compared to the US 120 VAC shock, it was a lot more painful. I used to brush off 120 V shocks as just a nuisance.
The 230V equivalent pulsed a lot harder.
