Out of the box quirky: I Am Not Okay with This - on Netflix 8/10. I am really, surprising so, enjoying this.

Sydney is a teenage girl navigating the trials and tribulations of high school while dealing with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality, and mysterious superpowers just beginning to awaken deep within her.

Mild sex and Spliff use.

I Finished Season 2 of Altered Carbon. I enjoyed it.

Have gone back to season 4 of Van Helsing. Cheesy, poorly acted and obviously lower in budget than many of its contemporaries, but I am still nearly enjoying it.

Jaxson:

My thoughts exactly.

Just watched Drive to Survive season 2 on Netflix, about the 2019 Formula 1 season.

Great stuff, and cool to get a behind the scenes look like that.

Feel sorry for the 'actors' as like any documentary/reality TV type show, the writers get to cast them into various story lines they want to tell.

You go on and have an interview, and then they take that content and craft it into an emotional story, at times out of context with what you had in mind/felt etc.

Ha, don't feel sorry for Max. He is exactly as he was portrayed (which to be honest I didn't think was too bad). Without being a narcissist they wouldn't get very far. It was hard to feel sorry for Gasly when he was the one sticking the knife in on Hartley in 2018 when he was in the exact same position!

Someone posted a couple of pages ago about The Stranger on NetFlix; it's a British mystery series which I'm finding very engaging and enjoyable.  Binged my way thru a number of episodes tonight...

Watching Matlock at the moment. Thoroughly enjoying its light storylines and seeing so many actors from the past.

I'm two episodes into Devs and it's fantastic.  Nick Offerman is brilliant in the role of a somewhat unhinged genius who seems to have found the code to reality itself.  I'm only speculating as in two episodes the story is still very vague, but it's something special.  Written and directed by Alex Garland of Ex Machina/Annihilation/28 Days Later fame.

I just watched “The Capture” on TVNZ OD. It’s a British BBC police thriller in the same vein as The Bodyguard, except waaay better. 6 episodes and i was absolutely gripped from start to finish.
Without giving too much away I think a lot of GZ users would enjoy watching it as it deals with the UK’s use of CCTV in fighting crime in a modern world of Fake News and the like.

I hope they bring it back for a second series. It’s got 100% on RT so I’m sure it will be.

Holliday Granger is the star of the show and although I had never heard of her before, she absolutely kills it. What a great actress, will definitely keep an eye on her future work.
Ron Perlman and Famke Janssen also star.

I too found it really interesting and gave it a 9/10. Something a bit different to the usual police drame, with a high-tech component thrown in that really makes you think about the world we now live in.

Kingdom. 8/10 on second series now

Without Netflix, I would never be watching a Korean language series based in middle ages with political power plays with zombies...

Impressive production values, sets, costumes

Started watching Giri/Haji on Netflix last night. So far I am giving it a 7/10 but this may improve.

The 8 episodes follow a detective from Tokyo who is sent to scour London for his missing younger brother, who's been involved with the Yakuza and accused of murder but in typical Japanese cultural style all must be kept quiet and in house.

This English and Japanese or should that be Japanese and English, follows the good to great English formulas for English police crime dramas but in a lot of ways has broken this mold. The direction and story telling is excellent. There are plenty of side plots, bloody violence, humour and tears. The Japanese subtitles can be a bit fast occasionally so don't look away.

I strongly feel this is going to be one of Netflix good to great shows.

Have just finished episode three. Could go either way, but so far so good!
