and then back up to 100+MB/s after half an hour of crawl...

Windows. Again. Happily copying ssd to external hdd at 100MB/s. Decides to drop to 5MB/s and stays there.

Was there a whole bunch of small files on there to copy? Normally slows down for these type of operations.

Half big, like 4 or 5GB and half small, like 70KB.

Don't know why its fast, then slow, then fast, though the slow down seemed to coincide with Windows deciding the spin up two external HDDs, for no reason I could see.

It was cycling a bit, but I only noticed while it was at the slower speed. So it wasn't cycling between 100MB/s and 5MB/s depending on file size. It went from 100 to 5 (with excursions up to 20 for the big files I presume), then back up to 100, so three stages while it was copying 130 files.

People who spend a significant amount of money to go to a show and proceed to crap on during it and spoil others enjoyment.

Just shut up.

Tight-wads at the Mitre10 sausage sizzle.

Yesterday fund-raising for some childrens group, matters not what exactly.

$2 for a sausage in a bread with t-sauce and onions.

But they've run out of onions.

So the guy ahead of me wants a discount, and does not give up until he gets a free drink.

I watched him walk back to his Audi Q7.

smh

Water leak from meter in Bryndwr, Christchurch that has been there since probably about October last year. It is a good flow, not just a dribble.

We have used the council Snap,Send,Solve app a couple of times to try and get this waste of water resolved.

All that has happened is a cone and a channel dug for the water to run into the gutter.

The fact that, every year, I try and use Samsung’s online trade in platform to trade in a previous iPhone and every year it refuses.

This year, I enter the imei and it validates it as correct. Then I click continue and it invalidates it and says incorrect!

No, No I don't. Seeing as they're likely to be pics I put there to post on some forum 10 years ago, and I forgot I even had an account, I don't need this email 3 times a week!

At an event a week ago the ring road to the popular location as set as one way. The parking spaces were full and cars ended up parking on both sides of the road for a few KM.

It was blindingly obvious that they’d made the roads in and out as one way with a nice big sign and advertising leading up to it, yet on my way out there were still numpties that completed a 10 point u-turn while holding up traffic, only to find they had to do it all in reverse again as traffic started backing up with their exit blocked.

You aren't the intended audience for those emails but there it's better safe than sorry. People procrastinate and need to be pestered. Better they pester than someone loses data they actually want.
