PhantomNVD: Perhaps just delete the offending post and leave a mod comment? On threads I've been involved in it often shows on my live update and then clicking gets me a thread deleted page :(

Same thing onthe friends column when Freitasm has commented on something that perks my interest and then all I see is the 404 with no idea WHY ...

So my (minor) irritation is"not knowing" something I thought I should be able to know 🤔

In addition to the comment by @freitasm: If it is only one post in a thread that is an issue, the offending post alone will be removed/hidden. We will leave a post explaining as such if appropriate to do so, or make no comment if there is no need to.

We do NOT hide entire threads just because someone posts something inappropriate. As I said in my post above, lengthy discussions are usually only hidden if the OP requests it (or as mentioned, they remove it themselves). If it is deemed that a thread (new thread with very few responses) is inappropriate, then we may hide it in it's entirety.

We certainly don't just go around removing/hiding threads for the heck of it.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Geektastic: Still not sure if that is a lot for cakes though...what would you expect it to be?

A different brand listed 960 kJ each (instead of 7978).

I certainly wasn't accusing anyone of that, or suggesting anything like that. It is just  that when you are following a thread, especially if there is a vigorous discussion going on, and then it suddenly disappears without a word, that leaves a very unsatisfied feeling behind.

People that don't indicate left at roundabouts, so you're sitting there waiting for them to go straight through and you waited for nothing.

floydbloke:

When you want to buy something on a US based site and you need to go 80% through checkout procedures before you can find out the shipping costs.

On a positive note, abandoning the cart triggered them to send me a 20% discount code a few days later. I've now gone and bought this particular item  (and getting it shipped via YouShop, US$9.50 + NZ$12.50 rather than US$50, going by some other threads fingers crossed I receive it...and soonish).

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

I'm in the habit of abandoning carts everywhere now. Some are very slow tho and take days to email the offer.

Global companies with personalised national websites .... but, they keep switching to the US version of their website.

eg, apple support...

https://support.apple.com/en-nz

Sweet, NZ.

but, click contact, then talk to us, and suddenly directed to their US support page...

https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=sxxxhhh

That would be OK, but, the support is only shown as applicable to US customers from this point on.

When you send a gift to someone and then all mail from that site is now "Hello Someone!", until you send a gift to someone else then it's "Hello Someone Else!".

Had one this morning. Pretty vague lane discipline, then turned left without indication.

I overtook - and guess what? One hand on the wheel, the other holding a phone to their ear. Idiots.

Just one? People don't signal around 15% of the time in my view.

Especially irritating at roundabouts, when you are waiting for someone to go through but then they dive off to the left having made you first come to a complete standstill!!!!

At times i contemplate, if you can't beat 'em join 'em.

I must admit though, that there is the odd occassion where I am guilty of incorrect signalling.  But, that is reasonably rare.

On the other hand, signalling at roundabouts is so inconsistent that there is no way you can assume that a car indicating a left turn is about to exit - you have to wait until you see the car turn into the exit before pulling out.  Unless you want be wiped out by some idiot who doesn't know how to signal.

I am not sure which I hate most: People that don't indicate, or people that indicate as they turn. At that point its pretty much redundant, yes dear Muppet - I can see you taking the turn now.. No need to indicate anymore...
